I worked at Ramco-Gershenson as an intern

    Pros

I got a lot of experience in PR working as an intern at one of the company's shopping centers.

    Cons

There isn't room for advancement and it probably wouldn't be a good experience for someone who likes to work in a team environment.

    I have been working at Ramco-Gershenson full-time

    Pros

Great benefits! This company really takes care of its employees. You can see the "fruits of your labor" by annual salary increases and bonus. Great Wellness incentives and charity program!

    Cons

Atmosphere is a little stuffy but I can see it loosening a little with the hiring of younger employees. Would like to see flexible schedules offered and a more casual dress code.

    Advice to Management

Keep up the communication! It really makes employees feel like they are a part of the "team".

I have been working at Ramco-Gershenson full-time (More than 8 years)

    Pros

Most of the employees are great people to work with and the industry in itself is interesting.

    Cons

New Sr. Mgmt. has no regard for the experience which help grow the company and the H/R Dept. is not a resource at all this combination will ultimately be the demise of this company.

    Advice to Management

Please resign and allow individuals who will instill the values that reflects the legacy of the company to bring it back to life again as this will increase REAL shareholder value. If you haven't noticed you have a HUGE moral problem on your hands...

    Pros

Public Company, Great sales pitch to get you in the door

    Cons

Management constantly changing for the worse. Horrible communication. Does not value loyal employees. Will not promote within. Culture is horrible. Everyone is CYA mode. Huge turnover in staff.

    Pros

Easy work life balance. Don't expect the work to be a challenge. Fairly liberal email retention policy so you shouldn't have any problems running out of CYA.

    Cons

Don't look for a meaningful promotion until someone gets fed up with management or the immobility/boredom and moves on. Only lip service will be granted to professional development.

    Advice to Management

    No thanks.
