I worked at Ramsay Health Care full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

-Some really good people within the company
-busy environment and lots to do
    -good pay

    Cons

    -terrible management
    -favouritism is rife
-under appreciate and over worked staff
-bullying and management wont step in and remove bullies.

Hires A LOT of long standing staff's relatives creating 'untouchables' and toxic work environment

Unless you've been employed with Ramsay Health for years you don't stand a chance. A lots of work place politics.

Employed extra staff to prepare for CQC visit and let them go once it was over.

    Advice to Management

    Respect and value employees

    Pros

Flexible, part-time hours. Some of the staff were good.

    Cons

    Money driven
Bullying is rampant and treatment of staff is unacceptable
    Unsupportive and short staffed
Internal induction and training - leaves something to be desired.

    Advice to Management

Need to get on top of the work environment and provide a better system of support to new staff. I felt like I was forced out the door despite having so much potential in my career. The whole experience has left me psychologically scarred.

    Pros

Doing what I love in a less stressful environment than the NHS.
    Good training and regular updates.

    Free parking

    Cons

Lists over running and staff shortages. Ordering of equipment/drugs/ supplies complicated as many different depts handle different things. Lots of paperwork.

    Advice to Management

Better management of late staff. Sort out Re stocking- who/where.

I worked at Ramsay Health Care part-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Nice uniform. A couple of friendly people in wards but the nicest people were the cleaners.

    Cons

Too much bullying and management wont step in and remove bullies. Unless you've been employed with Ramsay Health for years you dont stand a chance. Coworkers dont like new people joining.

    Advice to Management

Management and CEO need to do courses on anti bullying and learn how to sympathise with the victims instead of letting the purpertrator continue. Otherwise people will never stay..

I have been working at Ramsay Health Care full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

The only good thing about working here is my colleagues

    Cons

The present manager has no sympathy, compassion or empathy. Previously this was a very hard place to get a job with excellent morale and good retention of staff. Nowadays we cannot attract staff and if we do they quickly leave. We are losing staff to our competitors but also to the N.H.S which indicates how desperate people are to leave. The service to patients is directly affected by desire to push through as many people in one day as possible. Staffing levels are at best adequate, especially on the ward. The hospital would close if all agency staff left. Permanent staff are not rewarded or valued.
