    Negative Outlook

I worked at Randstad (Less than a year)

    Pros

Co workers were pleasant to work alongside.
That's pretty much where the good ends.

    Cons

Felt like you had to tiptoe around and Randstad never gave you the benefit of the doubt on anything, because you know they have to save face with a big employer.
The management at Kohls IT department was awful. They truly did not appreciate the work done by our crew, and the culture of micro management was enough to make you stress the second you walked in the door.
Perfection is the order of the day, and anything less than that gets you a review between Randstad and Kohls. Not to discuss the issue, but to ask you why you messed up. Regardless if it's a user issue or not.
The users.... They are always right, and there is no options to act like a proper IT dept and explain why what has to be done needs to be done. If users screw up your deadline, it's your fault and you have a review. Truly it is sad how little this company stand sup for you in the face of losing any revenue.

    Advice to Management

Treat your guys and gals with some dignity and respect, and you will seriously get a ton of productivity increase. Bump the pay to match the job and the stress that comes with it.
Also for everyones sake and well being, make up the difference of your RIDICULOUS benefits package. I had the CHEAPEST available option and I was paying almost $250 a month for myself only. That is pathetic and you should be ashamed.
Have a group meeting with your staff that you employ at your locations like once a month to show you give a damn. There has to be some opportunity to air concerns and get something done to help make this an enjoyable work environment.

    I worked at Randstad full-time

    Pros

Decent pay if you negotiate for salary. Sky's the limit so don't be afraid to ask for more. I had sales and HR experience but they do hire sales people from different industries.

    Cons

Arbitrary sales goals. Managers who tell you to "make your numbers look good" by faking in the system. Toxic, competitive environment which is unnecessary because everyone does well if everyone else does well.

    Advice to Management

Take a more holistic approach to your business. Expand your services to include consulting so there are multiple income streams. Create realistic goals and develop other revenue building ways so people who've been there 15 years don't get fired for having a slump in job fills. Bad for morale. Establish an HR base on the west coast instead of funneling everything through HQ in Atlanta which is unavailable past east coast hours. Combine the siloed divisions of Randstad (Sourceright, Randstad Health and Randstad Technologies) to make it less confusing for job seekers and clients. Try to create a more supportive and inclusive environment all around.

I worked at Randstad (Less than a year)

    Pros

They provided lots of training. Probably a better company for someone without previous successful sales experience.

    Cons

Unrealistic metrics. They are extremely rigid. Out of touch on the methods of prospecting. I was pursued by Randstad, then ignored and then treated in the worst way by my direct manager. The manager then worked around me, ignoring me and disrespecting in front of my own employees. It became the most hostile workplace I’ve ever worked in. I work never recommend working directly for this company.

    Advice to Management

Take the feedback that is shared with HR seriously.

    I worked at Randstad full-time

    Pros

Low paying but fast employment opportunities available.

    Cons

In my experience, they do have a lot of jobs available but the ones they advertise may not be available. I was waiting for one job in particular and I was lied to by staff saying it would be available on a certain date but kept pushing it back. Found out. Was waiting for nothing and ended up seeking employment elsewhere after being let on for nearly a month. They did have other much lower paying jobs immediately available.

    Advice to Management

Make sure all your staff are on the same page and don’t make promises that jobs will be available on an exact date if it is not true.
