I have been working at Randstad US full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Easy hiring. Fast hiring if you get an interview and have any type of office/ administrative experience.

    Cons

Not a great background check for employees. A couple of my coworkers from Randstad are highly unprofessional and are not monitored by their agent at all.

    Advice to Management

Monitor your employees better. Don't just give them a position in one of your contracts and forget about them. Study their skills and education better so you can place them in a higher paying job or help them get a permanent job.

I worked at Randstad US full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Laid back environment, fun, lots of energy

    Cons

Cut throat environment where those cutting the throats are rewarded. I had an active relationship with a candidate in our database. I had sourced him, interviewed him, and continued to submit him for temp-to-perm positions. A mid-level recruiter attempted to place him in a perm position behind my back so that he wouldn't have to split commission. After finding out, I confronted him. Management did nothing but tell him not to do it again. I did not receive the split I was owed.

    Advice to Management

You will continue to lose GOOD candidates if practices such as this are permitted.

    Pros

I love it here. As long as I perform at and above expectations, I am treated like an adult. No micro-managing, no dirty looks. My colleagues are all highly professional and are experts in their respective fields, and they make me look good.

It's like running my own business. It's certainly not perfect here, but it's the closest thing to perfect for me that I can imagine.

    Cons

Not great with junior people because it can be a bit unstructured. Has never been a problem for me personally, though.

    Advice to Management

My boss could be a little more responsive, but overall, less management for me is better than too much management.

    Pros

    Great potential income
    Great industry to work in
Trainign was above par and set me up to be successful in my future endeavors.

    Cons

Very much a "your on your own" mentality once you hit the floor.
No consistency in management styles which lead to better performance of other groups

    Advice to Management

Standardize Practice Director management so to assure consistency within the company.
Communicate more effectively the direction that the comapny is pursuing so that the paranoisa is limited.
