I worked at Ranken Technical College full-time

    Pros

Very diverse community with tons of opportunity to learn.

    Cons

It’s a relatively small school. But has a phenomenal education and outstanding facilities.

I have been working at Ranken Technical College full-time

    Pros

Fulfilling to watch student placement in the field after being a major influence
    Enjoyable co-workers to be around.

    Cons

Low salary compared to Field Positions
Upper level trickle-down micromanagement and policy application is like dodging bullets daily. Obnoxious office politics at play.

    Advice to Management

Stop changing policies every 2 months, and stop treating instructors like we're the bad guys.

I worked at Ranken Technical College part-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Flexible with school, they will work with you and your schedule. Indoor relaxed environment. They allow you to work at a comfortable pace.

    Cons

Lazy co-workers, little accountability. Too many show up for work and do not do what they are supposed to do. Management micro manages and it gets a little ridiculous.

    Advice to Management

FIRE THE UNPRODUCTIVE EMPLOYEES. Hold employees to higher standard. Appoint a student lead who can stay on the lazy ones and hopefully they will work harder or be fired.

I worked at Ranken Technical College part-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

They will give you a lot of classes if they like you. They do have a max amount of classes you can get but that is 6 per semester.

    Cons

They treat the students as little children. They expect you to force them by any means necessary to do what the school enforces. They are like a Military school. Adjunct general ed can never be hired as full time officially because they can get adjuncts for half price.

    Pros

    Great associates to work with.

    Cons

New employees are treated very differently than older employees. Time off and pay.

    Advice to Management

Remember that quality education is what the founder intended, not more numbers of students.
