I have been working at Raven Transport full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

You'll learn all the runs Raven makes in a short amount of time. You'll be living on the 75 a majority of the time. A few great DMs and decent planners. They are good at getting you home on time. They are good at making sure your pay, detention, layover and all finances are done right! They don't breathe down your neck, but I'm always early . I like the crew that keeps me moving.

    Cons

The equipment is absolutely horrible. Trailers are constantly needing to be fixed. They are owned by the FEC rail yard so you will be running loads to the rail constantly. Thus, Ravens trailers(not made for the rail) are constantly in horrible condition. Most of the drivers don't even care to fix them any more. Youll make more money to not fix the trailers. So if you want to be legal, plan on making 500 -600 a week fixing trailers while the guys that don't fix them get 2500-3000miles. Enjoy running48000 lb loads with no trailer brakes. Its common practice by their best drivers and by me. Another guy will fix it. TRUCKS ARE OLD GETTING OUTDATED. They are currently needing 20 drivers. Youll be in a 450000 mile truck. Every truck I've gotten into after previous truck, breaks down. Has been filthy. Not actually cleaned. Plan on spending a lot of time cleaning the inside of the truck. Oh, and youll get a used nasty mattress in that truck. Plan on buying a new mattress. They started putting retreads on super single drive tires. To save money I guess?! Youll be running extremely heavy loads, so good luck when that retread blows. Youll be dead. PAY IS GREAT,,,,,BUUUUUUTTT... They reserve the right to change your pay whenever and however they see fit. They just docked all drivers 2 cents per mile. Talk to any of our Raven drivers, and the time to join us is not now. Most of them are unhappy. Raven has so much potential but ultimately is mismanaged by the higher ups. They are owned by the FEC and Groupo Mexico. Our higher ups dont care about the drivers solely based on the equipment we have to run.

I have been working at Raven Transport full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

I have over three years past experience with this company.. I am a recent rehire. Not many pros. The mileage pay is in the upper 15 to 20% of the industry. They have to use a large sign on bonus to get people to come on which is a red flag. I live in Jacksonville so I chose them to try to manage my home time . Long story short I can't come up with any more pros.. I live here and the terminals close to my house .

    Cons

They have an LNG truck fleet that is giving them fits to place drivers in them since the truck performs erratically and is dangerous to drive because of the inconsistent throttle response. While the mileage pay is high the mileage average is low and the two don't work well together to provide a good income. Dispatch used to be more than courteous and helpful and assist drivers. My recent experience shows me driver managers would rather talk and play with drivers with the messaging then actually assist them to be efficient and attempt to help them in their already difficult job. Based on this recent experience I am already submitting my resume for other jobs.

    Pros

Good people with good years of experience in the ranks.

    Cons

No leadership of company. Exclusive management team is lime a high school clique. If you aren't part if the group what ideas you have do not matter. You are just a body to do the real work thay they should be more involved in.

I have been working at Raven Transport full-time for more than a year

    Pros

Good pay per mile for newer drivers. With just one year of experience you start at .45 cpm

    Cons

Home time policy is terrible. If you stay out for two week away from ur family u get 48hrs off... So if u get home on Friday u only get one day with ur family... Which is Saturday... I don't know about everyone else but my family has to work and go to school on Friday so that is a wasted day.. Then u have to go back out Sunday...
