I have been working at Raytheon full-time

    Pros

Relaxed work environment, some interesting work

    Cons

The company likes to say you have career flexibility and you should take charge of your own destiny, except that cannot be further from the truth. If you are a new grad that's looking to get your foot in the door and take ANY engineering job thinking you might be able to move around...don't come here. If you were like me and took the position so you could get an opportunity to do something you actually like, you will feel lied to. I have been trying to move to a field I like from one I am merely functional at. I do good work in my 'functional' field but would be much more productive in my preferred field, yet the company WILL NOT let me apply for postings within my skill level because they are ONLY for people without post college work experience.

    Advice to Management

Let your early career engineers move around a little to find something they enjoy. Otherwise they will leave.

    Pros

Great pay and heavy potential for overtime.

    Cons

Bad moral/atmosphere, having a persistent need/desire to look to for employment elsewhere before all comes to an end.

    Advice to Management

    None

I have been working at Raytheon full-time

    Pros

Working at Raytheon is great. They are very flexible with your work schedule and there are many opportunities within the Raytheon company.

    Cons

The biggest con about working at Raytheon is the lack of recognition for some of the employees working at Raytheon.

    Advice to Management

The advice I would give to most of the Raytheon management is to recognize hard work and be fair when it comes to promoting the right people for the job. I have seen too many people getting promoted which lack the skills for those positions.

    Pros

    -Great internal support staff
    -Smart co-workers
    -Rewarding projects

    Cons

    -Old corporate culture
-Still residual tension from late 90s acquisitions
-Easy to get pigeon holed in a program

    Advice to Management

Realise that young employees are not just showing up for a 9-5. We want to work for a company that values our experience at work. Make an effort to liven up the office and make communication more open.

    Pros

    Good pay and good benefits.

I have been working at Raytheon full-time (More than 8 years)

    Pros

Professional, knowledgeable co-workers; fair compensation. Middle management is responsive, even if they can't change much. Plenty of lateral movement opportunities if you communicate the desire.

    Cons

Career progression can be somewhat stagnant, but lateral moves are easy. They seem to hire very talented people, but the jobs aren't always that challenging - so move around if you get bored.

    Advice to Management

Find ways to leverage current employee knowledge base to pursue other Buisness opportunities.
