    Neutral Outlook

I worked at Raytheon full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Great team work and company atmosphere. First line managers and supervisors take care of their people. Very interesting work that truly makes an impact.

    Cons

When times and contracts get tight it comes down to the bottom line. I saw a number of people let go because the business unit was not expanding and keeping highly skilled people employed.

    Advice to Management

Look ahead and make the best effort to project contract end dates, future or follow on contracts and opportunities, and balance with resource needs and requirements.

    Positive Outlook

I worked at Raytheon full-time (More than 8 years)

    Pros

Large company, so numerous opportunities to move around all throughout company.
Management was good about helping you find work that interested you.
    Flexible time
At times throughout my career with Raytheon, they were good about giving out monetary awards.

    Cons

Moderate compensation; although average for large company
Moderate benefits for this day and age
There were too many people that I considered to be dead weight, non/weak-performers

    Advice to Management

Differentiate yourselves from the rest of the big companies by making Raytheon a destination for top-notch talent. In other words, work towards making Raytheon a more competitive place to get into, as well as cater to the desires of the younger talent pool.

    Negative Outlook

I worked at Raytheon full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

Big company with job locations everywhere.

    Cons

Not sure they REALY CARE about the people that do the work.

    Advice to Management

Stop trying to put SQUARE PEGS into ROUND HOLES . . . Not ALL jobs are able to work under the constraints of a production environment, some jobs are service oriented.

    No opinion of CEO

    Pros

Due to my security clearance and shift work the pay is great, much more than a new grad could expect otherwise.

    Cons

Shift work requires you to nearly give up any social life you have. Getting time off can be difficult. Internal job openings seem to be a formality, they already know who they are giving the job to, this makes for a frustrating experience and gives little hope for moving up in the company.

    Advice to Management

Give jobs based on performance and desire, not on seniority only.

    Pros

The customer you are supporting makes your work very rewarding. You know that you are impacting the lives of your customer each day. The work environment was very friendly and each person was easy to get along with. The team I was on held fun outings every few months. The management team I was under communicated very well with us and let us know how we could improve and rewarded us when we went the extra mile. The people were very willing to show you new things and help you learn new areas of the system. Teamwork was very important in the group I was a part of.

    Cons

The location I was at and the specific program I was on did not have many opportunities for advancement. I had to look outside my immediate program.

    Advice to Management

I did not interact with Senior Management very much.
