    Company Profile

    Business Outlook

    Pros

Many good, hardworking people with much experience

    Cons

Raytheon has been strong armed by the goverment to act as the covid police. It takes a strong CEO, board of directors, and advisors to stand up against the financial threat of the federeal government. Sadly the aforementioned has not done the right thing and stood for freedom, but has capitulated to a socialistic / communistic stance on policing according to the Federal goverment. Raytheon is an engineering company that has turned into a policing company in tracking who has, has not, or who chooses not to identify their shot status.

    Yes No Maybe

Nov 30, 2021 - Electrical Engineer II in McKinney, TX
    Recommend
    CEO Approval
    Business Outlook

    Pros

Paychecks don't bounce. Feel secure in my position. Lots of opportunities to work above my pay grade. Lots of unpaid training opportunities. Some benefits are surprising.

    Cons

Pay might not increase as fast as at other companies. Little to no annual corporate paid job specific skills training. I've been encouraged to use PTO to grow my skills for my job. Too concerned with investor statements rather than reinvesting in the company. DE&I may make some people feel excluded.

Good one but big room to improve

Jan 11, 2022 - Associate Director Supply Chain Management in McKinney, TX
    Recommend
    CEO Approval
    Business Outlook

    Pros

Stable defense work and good resources for self development. Diversity rich environment, which is odd for a defense company.

    Cons

Bad work culture and poor planning. No work life balance (literally zero). Lack of leadership qualities at the executive level management

    Good Work/Life Balance

Jan 6, 2022 - Mechanical Engineer in McKinney, TX
    Recommend
    CEO Approval
    Business Outlook

    Pros

Good benefits with lots of time off and interesting work.

    Cons

Government contracts slow everything down and the nature of a massive company wastes a lot of time. Not as competitive with pay. Overly concerned with diversity quotas and buzz words. My section manager actually told our section to refer "specifically women and minority candidates" for hiring.

So far, it's just another job...

Nov 17, 2021 - Tech Support Specialist Senior, in McKinney, TX
    Recommend
    CEO Approval
    Business Outlook

    Pros

    - Benefits are decent - Clean Facility - Great Location

    Cons

    - Specialized Knowledge and Experience - Those with the "niche" knowledge and experience are not compensated appropriately, pay is a greatly lacking compared to other competitor companies in the area. - With the vast majority of the employees in retirement mode or very close to and the economy the way it is, there is a major lack of support as far as hiring new technicians to help distribute the workload. Technicians are getting burnt out and pressured to work to help cover the loss of these retiree's. - Unrealistic expectations with some of the upper management as far as workload and overall time management for their staff members, demanding weekends and overtime, especially when there is a major lack of work or hardware. -Not for all programs! But there are a few, upper management disconnection and lack of engagement with their programs, also upper management that has no clue of the processes required to complete and move the product out the door, practically ZERO experience with the hardware. Just because you have a degree doesn't grant you the real time in field experience that most of the employees here have.

    Not bad

Oct 11, 2021 - Senior Systems Engineer in McKinney, TX
    Recommend
    CEO Approval
    Business Outlook

    Pros

Good work life balance. Clear work instructions.

    Cons

You are truly a COG in a machine. Hard to feel impactful on projects that take 5 years to see results. Limited stock grants for anyone besides high level management.
