    Pros

Great, talented people who work very hard.
Good overall benefits as part of the Publicis group.
    Competitive Compensation. Fantastic holiday schedule.

    Cons

Over promised Client, and short staffed. Not to mention the latest lay-offs.
Management out of San Francisco, not in touch with the real work, and my way or the highway attitude.
Focused on one client. No new business. Dim outlook.

    Advice to Management

Give the LA office more independence to help build a culture and a self sustaining team.

I worked at Razorfish full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

    - Work life balance, 9 to 5, minimal pressure
    - Great place to work for people with families and other commitments and need predictability in their work schedule
    - Select members of the leadership are very capable, passionate, and talented
    - Nice, friendly coworkers

    Cons

    - Not challenging enough, if you are type A, like to keep busy and want to be constantly put in situations where you learn and grow, this is not the place for you
    - There are some underperforming people still lingering around, because they have been around for years they can just coast by
    - Promotions are less so about capabilities but more about who you know
    - Depending on the project, can be clique-y and exclusive
    - Raises are a joke, often times they don't give out any raises at all.
    - Lack of interesting projects

    Advice to Management

    - Invest and recognize talented and hard working people

I have been working at Razorfish (More than 8 years)

    Pros

Work life balance, the people are nice and good-intentioned, good benefits and pay, name clients, legacy Razorfish reputation.

    Cons

I've seen this company go through many stages and half a dozen rounds of layoffs in a few years. The Pubicis merger did nothing to this company except suck it dry, there was no advantage to Razorfish in this deal. Everyone's left and those who have stayed are struggling to keep the lights on. Client engagement left in droves, and the managers who were brought to replace them have no clue of who or what or how made Razorfish great. Currently many efforts to sell traditional work that will bring little $ or provide little work for those that are there. Office went from 500 to 200 or less in a matter of three years, most of it through attrition, people getting spooked. This office is depressing and empty. Some of the actions that were taken to make it not appear so to prospect clients were appalling and borderline unethical.

    Advice to Management

Get rid of those in leadership that have no deep expertise in digital, Razorfish's DNA. This includes the regional president, client engagement, and business development. The work that Razorfish was known for won't come back, everyone is moving in-house or otherwise. Define who we are as an organization so that RF can be great again. Forget about competing in the same space we did before, find a new area where RF can provide value. I fear the window of opportunity is closing rapidly, if it hasn't already, for offices like the Chicago one.
