I have been working at Razorfish full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

The people here are top-notch - some of the smartest I've ever worked with. Excellent office environment with drinks and snacks. Interesting clients and work. Good work/life balance with a pretty stable, yet flexible daily schedule.

    Cons

It's nearly impossible to advance your career here. Lip service is given to helping to grow your career, but little action is taken. For that reason, there's quite a bit of turnover.

    Advice to Management

Take seriously your commitment to help your employees grow their careers.

I have been working at Razorfish full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

    • Super smart lively people
    • Culture of collaboration and learning
    • Working with grown-ups... on the whole!
    • Work-for-home policy
    • Long-term commitment vibe

    Cons

    • Little or no top level leadership for creative
    • Product delivery focused vs creative lead
    • Promotion red tape
    • Now under the Publicis.Sapient umbrella goals are less focused on experience and more towards delivering

    Advice to Management

Just be more inclusive than exclusive.

I worked at Razorfish full-time (More than 8 years)

    Pros

The people. Talented, smart, funny, kind, collaborative.

    Cons

Corporate culture. Has become about money. RF has lost its way and changed focus.

    Advice to Management

The people who do the work seem most at risk for losing their jobs. But the people who are responsible for the lack of work appear untouchable.

I have been working at Razorfish full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Strong culture among teams and some really smart passionate people. We do some awesome work, but I don't think it gets shared enough among different teams. Office is new and bright in a fun location.

    Cons

Lots of brain drain going on with top talent going elsewhere. Lots of corporate speak around this Publicis.Sapient integration, but not really sure what that should mean for us day to day other than more layers of people that have to approve any logical decision. Regular layoffs, but never deep enough so they always have to go back a few months later and cut more.

    Advice to Management

Pay good people what they're worth when they are here and not just when you fear they will leave. Be more transparent about wins and losses and what that means for different teams. Also, while the friendly atmosphere is nice... we're here to run business, not to be friends. Don't be afraid to fire people when their performance is bad.

I have been working at Razorfish full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Great facilities, good people with good hearts. Some top-shelf clients that produce award-winning work (long hours and low margins) and some quotidien clients that help pay the bills (long hours and high margins).

    Cons

A vestige of the old days when "digital" was a differentiator. Very little to actually differentiate Razorfish from R/GA, Huge other than people nowadays.

    Advice to Management

Fewer speeches, fewer meetings. End the boys club. Train downward not sideways. Communicate less but say more.
