    Pros

Good benifits easy process for employment nice uniforms

    Cons

No brakes not allowed to use restroom the lower ur regular hourly wage when u do over time dispatchers are control of how many loads U make they said they give u water fruit they don't in Stockbridge plant they pay driver who sit out of work but mess with pay checks of guys actually coming to work they work u just under the 70 hour mark every week there is no chance of advancement or raises they don't care if they keep their employees

    Advice to Management

Be fair to employees don't work them so much and cut their regularly hourly rate which is federal law says regular hourly rate time n a half for over time cutting pay from hourly rate cause they get over time is against federal law. Not keeping water and drinks avilable to workers who work in the heat is a safety hazard. And if one plant has it all of them should. Dispatch shouldn't get to pick which driver gets more loads and who gets crapped on. Your employees should feel valued like ur their second family n should not feel used and I valued . People who sit out of work for over a month shouldn't still get paid the people coming to work should

I have been working at Ready Mix USA full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

Still a few good employees there that really want to do what's right. A great company at one time but that has faded away.

    Cons

Upper management is allowed to get away with lying and wrong doings because of the good old boy system while those being honest and trying to look out for the company get let go. Change upper management (and not with prior management that walked out on the company before). That was a slap in the face to many that held it together after he threw in the towel.

    Advice to Management

Listen to your middle and lower level employees. Take your blindfolds off and start seeing for yourself. Get out in the field, develop trust and ask questions. Pay drivers higher wages. Without them there would be no business.

    Pros

Local management is knowledgeable and easy to work with. Goals were reasonable and clear. Vast majority of employees were helpful, friendly and a pleasure to work with.

    Cons

Certain jobs will sometimes work long hours in poor weather. Winter months often result in fewer hours of work available for drivers.

    Pros

    Benefits and vacation are good.

    Cons

"Good old boys club" don't follow company policy regarding employee grievances. Will fire you to hire friends or family. Do not follow safety procedures regarding maintenance and repair of equipment. Unethical treatment of employees, constantly working in a hostile environment

    Advice to Management

Pay attention to who is actually doing the work in the proper manor. Don't stand behind every decision your supervisors make; they are using their position to cause great stress among the employees.

I have been working at Ready Mix USA full-time (More than 8 years)

    Pros

Vacation is good, insurance is ok, if your in Alabama. If your in management you get an expensive truck to ride around in.

    Cons

Very cut throat, you are just a number, hours are way crazy, they threaten your job on a weekly basis, no raises for drivers, salary people have not taken a pay cut only the drivers, don't rock the boat. Drivers are paid by deliveries, deliveries are based on sales, so you may sit for hours at the plant not getting paid. Although the salesmen are paid on salary. All the meetings, gear, and training is NOT because they care about your well being. It's all because they get a cheaper rate on the insurance. Central dispatch, what a joke. They will hire anyone just to fill a seat. Human resources, what human resources? 80% of drivers are seeking new employment. If your not one of the "Good Ol' Boys" your days are numbered. ***This is not a joke or a lie. It's hard to believe, but all true.**** If you know one of these drivers just ask they will tell you.

    Advice to Management

This company thinks they are the only game in town. Invest more in your lower level employees. They are the ones that see your customers all day, everyday. Stop spending time and money trying to find ways to cheat drivers out of their pay. Stop giving the management these expensive, gas guzzling trucks that they don't need. Invest more in to the equipment. When all the good drivers quit or get fired, what are you left with? You know the answer. I will not feel sorry for the management when their heads roll for letting things get this way. The Problem is the middle management.

I worked at Ready Mix USA full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

They have a good benefits package.
The 401(k) matches up to 5%.
Management at the division level is very competent.
Field personnel and division management are great people to work with.

    Cons

    Below average pay.
Lack of vision for future growth.

    Advice to Management

Focus less on beating the other guy's price. Instead, create new markets and customers. Concrete is a fantastic material; show people what it can do for them and they'll beg you for it.

  8. "Good place to work, ok pay and good benefits"

    Pros

    Company has great benefits.
After five years what you pay for medical is cut in half.
Sites are small enough that there is a true feeling of camaraderie within each site.
Company places a real value on worker safety.

    Cons

Pay is far below industry average and raises are seldom and always less than inflation.
    Favoritism is commonplace.
    No room for advancement.
Upper management does not really connect with lower management.

    Advice to Management

Don't leave your employees out in the dark. When giving raises they should at least match the prior years rate of inflation.
