I have been working at Realestate.com.au full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Fantastic people to work with, great manager/mentor who cares about my well-being and career and flexible work arrangement.

    Cons

Egos of colleagues sometimes get in the way of doing great work and they should be managed out before they start creating toxicity.

    Advice to Management

Pay close attention to your people, not just the loudest ones, who do great work for you because they will be quickly snapped up by competitors if you overlook them because they are the ones quietly working away and helping the team achieve.

    Pros

    Great amenities. Really nice people.

    Cons

Slow working projects..... There was a "FMP" lot of projects which became a joke as "SMP" (slow moving projects)

    Advice to Management

Stop doing so many meetings and approvals and get things happening faster!

    I worked at Realestate.com.au full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Great friendly colleagues and cool new modern business with a tech feel.

    Cons

It really is a company that does not value it's people. All they care about is profit and will do whatever it takes to get it done at the expense of the people. People are well over worked with resources extremely poor (head count). They encourage you to talk to them but nothing changes. I personally had a horrible manager that ended my time here. I couldn't bare see people I care about cry all of the time because what was expected of them was never humanly possible and broke. Upper management are taken cared of. The new CEO (Tracey Fellows) in my opinion is a failure however with shareholders and board members that only want profit is hard to swallow. They can't keep increasing their prices 20% year on year, their customers even dislike them. They lack innovation and worry too much about what the competition is doing. The good hard working people go silenced or unseen because of all of the idiots that are hired that chose to the play the corporate politics game.

    Advice to Management

Change senior management. Don't letting new executives (CFO) bring in their own friends to help them make their lives easier while making others extremely difficult to the extend of breaking them and losing amazing talent. Focus on the people and doing what is right by the customer and profit will come. Sell a solution that is desired and not forced.

    Pros

Strength of customer service - the people really care . Good people in the residential sales teams. Nice office and good location. Appear to be doing well financially.

    Cons

People operate in a nervous environment. Domain gets under their skin..marketing and product roadmap is simply copy cat stuff. Have confidence in the red.!

    Advice to Management

Take some risks, bring some spirit back. Stop looking in rear view mirror.

I have been working at Realestate.com.au full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Young vibrant culture internationally. Colleagues work closely together. Some markets are genuinely trying to win in market. Move to get nicer offices.

    Cons

M&As caused organizational structure disruption. Structurally it’s obviously not working. Lack of regional experience, many of ego trips and disruptions local go to market agility. Lack of local market experience yet trying to pretend they know what’s going on.

    Advice to Management

Please give less authority to your product team. It’s meant to be collaborative, you need that to develop the best product. Hire people with ACTUAL regional experience. They are making so much rookie mistakes while on their ego trips!

    I worked at Realestate.com.au full-time

    Pros

Lots of opportunities to learn on the job, adapt and evolve
    Lots of great facilities
    Well paid
    Good tech

After just 3yrs I came away from this role with skills I'd have taken a decade to acquire anywhere else. It's an intense work environment (in a positive way).

    Cons

Culture changed with new CEO - it's now more corporate than it was when I started. Lots of 2nd level management hires since then are more style than substance
Rapid growth means less people to know well, made it harder to get things done.
A level of hypocrisy when it comes to behaviour expected by staff versus senior managers
Increasingly, the ranks of the senior management are emotionally reactive and vindictive (decisions made on instinct, rather than facts or data)
