I worked at Realogy full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

There are places to learn and grow and be challenged depending on what group/business you operate under. Most of the people you work with are great, knowledgeable, ethical, want to do the right thing, and are willing to put in the work to get it done.

    Cons

The business/industry in general is difficult and very archaic. Management across many of the business units are "old school" in their view/strategy/mentality, which at times hurts the overall business and growth of the company.

There is a lack/little attention paid to talent and/or career development. Changes have been made recently to try to implement some talent management and development within the company, but it really is nothing more than lip service. The change needs to come from the top and without a holistic approach to talent management, talented individuals seeking acknowledgement and advancement will inevitably look somewhere else.

    Advice to Management

It is time for "new blood" in a lot of the business and operations as it relates to upper management. Strategic vision and execution for the long-term needs to be a focus more than tactical strategy. Real talent development/career development needs to be a focus to keep your greatest asset (employees) there for a very long time.

    Pros

Depends on what team your on that will determine both your success and happiness there.

    Cons

So many! Too many upper management changes and rules constant. There is NO diversity as much as they like to tout it ~ as a minority you basically hit a wall once your a Manager or Director there is no opportunity after that. A lot of misogynistic and ego men who have no empathy for maternity leave, work life balance as well as no more experience than who they oversee yet basically are corporate taking heads who seem to keep moving up the ladder just because they speak great presentation. Upper management has no clue what's going on in the field. They call themselves "real estate leaders" but no one in leadership positions has ever done real estate. They do not listen to the agent populations of what is working and what is not. The agents loathe corporate as they should because they come up with ridiculous plans that usually do not translate waste a ton of money and IGNORE THE FEEDBACK then pat themselves on the back and then give each other promotions while terminating all the truly good talented people after they over work them. Their travel policy is ridiculous and Managers ignore people having to travel on Sundays and Late Fridays. They enforce all these useless reports and conference calls that do nothing. The benefits are less to be desired. He so-called bonuses are a joke and never received basically and they use it to lower your salary.

    Advice to Management

Terminate the top management. No diversity does mean hiring people outside of industry experience. Provide more support to field services and ensure Managers, Directors and VPs are held accountable to ensuring their teams are fulfilled. Don't just allow a one filter up on feedback on how things are going. Certain Managers and VPs have been there way too long and are comfortable and complacent.

I worked at Realogy full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

This was one of the greatest experiences of my life. The company had great leadership and an aggressive posture toward growing top line revenue in the real estate franchising business.

    Cons

While this was one of the greatest experiences of my life. The company had great leadership and an aggressive posture toward growing top line revenue in the real estate franchising business, the downside was an obsession with company stock price on a daily basis.

    Advice to Management

Give employees a greater opportunity to voice their concerns about the long term strategic direction the company is going.

    Pros

I liked the events they held although they cut back since when I started here. That stuff is important for building a good company culture

    Cons

Difficult to advance. Not very frequent that someone would be promoted so there seems to be a lack of incentive for high performance

    Pros

They are growing and their is always work to be done.

    Cons

If you start at the bottom you will most likely stay there unless you get in good with someone.

    Advice to Management

Be more willing to teach things instead of grouping people together and routing calls accordingly. In my experience if everyone is trained then you don't need as many people off the phones to get stuff done. Everyone is helping everyone and stuff gets done faster and the customer doesn't have to wait for a fix to their issue.

I have been working at Realogy full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

You can learn a great deal while at Realogy. They do post all positions, although some departments already have someone in mind when they post but are requited to sdo so anyway. You are able to move into different departments and there are (seemingly) many opportunities for both lateral moves and promotions

    Cons

Realogy has an extremely face paced and the workload was very intense. It was difficult to keep all the "balls up in the air". Very much an old (white) boys club. Work life balance is non-existent, including conference calls Christmas morning. Also very political.

Question vertical advancements (vet out favoritism) and require Senior Leadership to interview internal candidate prior to promotion.
