I worked at Realtime Worlds full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Very good sense of community. International recruitment brings diversity and fun to the work place.

    Cons

They went bust. Like many games companies, if you aren't a coder, then it is not really any avenue for progression.

I worked at Realtime Worlds full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Great professional people with high passion for games combined with a good atmosphere. As a foreigner I strongly remember how great HR was in providing support and making one feel good in the city and company.

    Cons

Unfortunately due to bad time management an original idea got released to early and led to a horrible awakening (bankruptcy) - In the last phase the amount of producers increased in an unnatural rate, although the ship has sailed long before. And it was more about content than anything else.

    Advice to Management

Not much left to share to - as the company no longer exists. At some point I am sure the upper management realized where and when exactly they made the wrong decisions.

  4. "Overly Ambitious projects with no real sense of how to achieve them"

    Pros

It's in a nice location, cost of living is very low.
Artists, programmers and sound guys are mostly of an excellent standard. Although there are a handful of clueless newbies.

    Cons

Too many producers, very few of whom do anything useful.
Too many designers, none of whom are particularly good.
    Hierarchy is very rigid.

    Advice to Management

Get rid of the useless third.
