    I worked at Recaro full-time

    Pros

Recaro pays for all medical insurance.

    Cons

No training, which means you will be confused longer than neccesary.

    Advice to Management

No advice, they don't even listen to the employees they have.

I have been working at Recaro full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

Benefits package is above average, probably due to being a European (Germany) based company.

    Cons

The base pay, for all areas, is below average, which is the major cause of an exceptionally high turnover rate of employees. The company's response to the frequent low pay criticisms is to claim that Recaro's pay "is competitive for our industry". The turnover rate also causes frequent shortages of workers for critical skills stations, resulting in the unpopular remedy of temporarily moving assembly line workers... to other, more unfamiliar assembly lines to cover these shortages. Additionally, many of the workers hired aren't competent enough, or motivated enough to be trained (or trusted) for many of the critical skills positions.

    Advice to Management

    1. Increase your base pay! By doing so you'll attract a higher class of worker that can be trained for some of the critical positions and won't "call in sick" twice a week. Your "employee retention" plan that relies on things like company picnic's and Christmas Party's that employees don't value is ineffective at best. 2. Alter your pay structure to offer bonuses to those employees that can function in those... critical skills positions. 3. Reduce the amount of "line shifting" to work other production lines (often building a totally unfamiliar class of seat.

I have been working at Recaro full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

95% of your coworkers are easy to get along with the other 5% being are Favorites of Management, and they act like it. This company is pretty laid back are far as employee conduct. Everyone enjoys each others company for the most part. As a result we often have pot lucks and company activities that are quite pleasant. The work is not that hard, you just have to be good at managing your time. Benefits(pre-taxed) are... good better than the market. 401k matches 100% up to 6% of your check. The money is good if your single, if you got a family look for a second gig.

    Cons

Management needs to be more clear in what they expect from employees, and allow them to do their job in the time allowed. Don't cross the Favorites you will lose your job way before they even get a warning. There is a major problem with communication between Management and Employees...ie (if your not doing your job correctly, making a lot of mistakes or slow at doing your job they won't say anything to you til its... bout time to let you go or move you.) And yes they will discuss (with their favorites) all your issues on the job. Oh and don't expect to get hired in for like 3yrs unless you become a favorite in which case you will need to bring some fresh carmax to keep your lips from chapping.

    Advice to Management

Consider communicating with your employees when your not happy with their performance. Also tell the darn truth bout what's going on, your employees are adults not children. Don't say this is not bad news when it clearly is. Consider giving your employees raises they work really hard with little pay and never get the credit they deserve. Making an employee work for 2+ yrs before hiring them is torture.

I have been working at Recaro full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

Good medical benefits. Company is located in nice area.

    Cons

Low salary pay grade compared to industry. Not a very good place to rise up in career. Your knowledge will be negligible. Company has no interest providing employee additional work related training. Friendship with higher management is more important than your work performance. They have no set Criteria for their posts.

    Advice to Management

Company has lit of people to whom company pays for no productivity. Too cheap for providing employees facilities for work. Poor work process system. Lack of communication.

I have been working at Recaro

    Pros

Since the company has been acquired by JCI, there are more possible opportunities for career movement available through JCI as a whole, but not within Recaro. The office and attached plant are in nice condition and the seating products are unique.

    Cons

The company is owned by JCI, but Recaro still feeds up through Recaro Germany. There is a lot more red tape and additional unnecessary tasks to get anything done. Everything goes through Germany and Bratislava. The salaries are not very competitive. The health care benefits are worse now that JCI has taking over. There's no room for growth inside of Recaro itself. Upper management seems to not share with the... employees as a whole. Favoritism is blatant.

    Advice to Management

Be honest and open with your employees. It seems like every project or possible opportunity is a "secret", yet everyone finds out about it anyway. Treat all employees equally and fairly.

I worked at Recaro full-time for more than 5 years

    Pros

Nice environment, exciting product and a lot of opportunities to grow. Great people as well and some excellent benefits.

    Cons

This is a fairly young company which has been growing fast. A lot of the processes have not kept up which can make the day to day work a challenge and sometimes frustrating.

    Advice to Management

Continue developing the processes, while intensifying employee training.

    Negative Outlook

I have been working at Recaro full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

Health, dental, visual benefits, all company paid, plenty of PTO and paid holidays per year. Bonus pay at the end of the year

    Cons

Not much pay, management doesn't have a clue what's going on, far too much uncertainty because management is afraid of taking risks. One hand definitely doesn't know what the other is doing at this place.

    Advice to Management

Take risks, boost morale, think far outside the box
