I worked at Red Lobster part-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Weekly pay, can't think of anything else

    Cons

-Very understaffed because they cannot keep workers long
    -Bad management
-I knew hosts trying to move up to be a server for almost a year and they did not accommodate
-Payment on prepaid card instead of check so takes almost a week to transfer into bank account
    -Not compliant with schedule requests
-Some of the servers hired were very stuck up

    Advice to Management

Explain payment process better to people (maybe it was just my boss that didn't)

I worked at Red Lobster full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Great for experience, weekly pay and 50% discount, Great for those seeking to gain experience in the food industry, the biscuits are good.

    Cons

Was there 3 months and my training wasn't even completed, cross training never happened with me, was stuck frying or dishes most nights, advancement opportunities were given to employees hired after I was.

    Advice to Management

Experienced employees help train new employees, embrace standards, hold everyone accountable for their actions good or bad.

I have been working at Red Lobster part-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Discount because I love seafood. I have a great relationship with the servers. In all honesty, I don't have anything else to add.

    Cons

We are understaffed with hosts but yet I don't get hours. Pay is definitely not what Glassdoor has down for hosts so don't expect $9 an hour. It's definitely not what I'm getting. It's lower.

    Advice to Management

Give better pay. I expected at least $8.50 but I'm getting less.

I worked at Red Lobster part-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

They match your 401k up to a certain percent
    They were always steady
They have rules/high standards (which sometimes sucks, until you work at a place that lets people get away with anything) but I mean its red lobster....not fine dinning.

    Cons

    Max four table sections
    EXTREMELY corporate

I worked at Red Lobster part-time

    Pros

Great money for a part time job.

    Cons

Very poor training. You really are stuck fighting for yourself. Managers were OK at some points, but overall the staff were really unfriendly and unwilling to help newcomers. Even though I miss the easy extra $$, the environment made me burn out in just a few months.

    Advice to Management

Do what it takes to make the environment fun and friendly to work in.

I worked at Red Lobster full-time (More than 8 years)

    Pros

Like any other serving gig, it's money in your pocket after every shift. I met some incredible people at the location I worked for almost 10 years.

    Cons

If you're happy with the management, don't get too comfortable. They come and go faster than the other crew members. Don't expect any weekends off or a set schedule for that matter. Managers are just as bad at gossiping as servers are. Too much favoritism going on. Even though it's required by law in my state that if you work more than 6 hours, your employer is required to give you a half hour break it seldom happens. I was hired on with excellent benefits, medical, dental, even vision. But it was taken away after RL parted from Darden. Management is overworked and quick to punishing even for the slightest offenses.

    Advice to Management

Possible, but be ready to work 70 to 80 hours weekly.
