I worked at Red Lobster part-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Great scheduling, opportunities to be promoted, great products, co-workers are young and fun..great hiring practices. They get the best people to work for them.

    Cons

The corporate mindset runs people into ground and burns them out, their micro-managing of customer service makes things worse and escalates problems, they don't know if they are a fine dining restaurant or a fast food joint which creates the perfect storm of chaos on a daily basis.. the negative management mentality of always focusing on what you do wrong creates horrific morale and high turnover..

    Advice to Management

you have great people, stop pitting people against each other with your style of ratings and tying it too if you can work the next week and the number of shifts you receive. People need to work.

I have been working at Red Lobster part-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

    Money, Co-workers, Discounts, Biscuits, Friendly

    Cons

Management changes constantly, in two years we've had 8 manager quit--the company doesn't care about its employees and says nothing positive when you constantly do well-only punishment

    Advice to Management

Stick around and treat your employees with respect

I worked at Red Lobster (More than 3 years)

    Pros

    Considered fine dining.
Can work here for 2 years and move to a steak house.
Apart from the regular stress of working as a server, pretty chill and laid back place to work.
    Can move up.

    Cons

    Same as any other restaurant.

I have been working at Red Lobster part-time

    Pros

Employees at job site are helpful

    Cons

Rules about surveys and being the bottom 10 percentile. Gives no incentives on doing good but punishes you when you are not preforming above average.

    Advice to Management

Sway away from making servers bus their own tables. It provides an unclean appearance. Which in my opinion, is detrimental to a person serving food.

I worked at Red Lobster part-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

    Good hours and pay
You get the schedule at least a week in advance
Management is great for the most part

    Cons

You work for 7+ hours non stop with NO BREAK. Very stressful on busy nights when the cooks and servers are constantly out of dishes and silverware. The managers also expect you to clean bathrooms, take out trash, and shovel the sidewalks (hence the "utility" part).
There is an endless stream of dirty dishes you need to wash and when you do a trash run you can get really behind.

    Advice to Management

Give breaks. You shouldn't expect ANYBODY especially teenagers to be able to work these crazy shifts. What's the point of 50% off meals or free biscuits if you don't have time to eat?

I worked at Red Lobster full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Decent tip money thanks to slightly more expensive menu items/drinks/etc.

    Cons

Customers are mostly just awful in general, but for some reason Red Lobster attracts the literal scum of the earth. They're really pushy about you selling appetizers and drinks.
