I have been working at Redbox full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

    -Nice staff including supervisors
    -Good benefits

    Cons

    -monotonous work
    -limited work schedules
-unsure as to how long DVD's will be around for

    Advice to Management

Department is top heavy with Supervisors who are "people managers", yet they do not contribute anything to the work that has to be completed. Supervisor's should lead by example.

I have been working at Redbox full-time (More than 8 years)

    Pros

Redbox really cares about the individual and their customers. They have a complete benefits package that rivals just about any company.

    Cons

Redbox is in an industry that is declining. Their business model is built on the physical dvd and game. Redbox will no longer be viable when the pricing, quality, and selection of new release movies and games are equal to redbox and readily available for online streaming. Although some speculate that this will be soon, I still believe Redbox has many years left of good, strong business before streaming completely takes over.

    Advice to Management

Don't just look for ways to cut costs, although this is vitally important. Looks for new ways to innovate, expand, and increase business.

I have been working at Redbox full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Freedom- work alone, most days are spent 1/3 working and 2/3 driving. Decent benefits. Manage (ROS) is the best.

    Cons

Have to cover for Merchandisers (FSR1), new ticketing system takes away freedom of which kiosk to service first. Pay is kinda low for a Field Service Tech.

    Advice to Management

Listen to your field employees, don't just set a directive from corporate and say "comply" without first setting a test trial and getting feedback from field employees. Raise wages for field employees.

    Pros

Fleet vehicle that can be used as a let's on a lot vehicle. Also you get to be out and about and set your own times.

    Cons

The biggest con is that there is a large lack of communication between each portion of the company. Also as a field tech because you work hourly if you do a great job and your machines never go down then you don't get hours and make no money because there is no work for you. I am in one of the best markets in the company and also make the least money because of it.

    Advice to Management

Just listen to your field reps. We have a ton of great ideas that can help. The communication should flow both ways.

I have been working at Redbox full-time

    Pros

Good local supervisor, very recognizable product and kiosk. Everywhere and any where but not for long

    Cons

Too much work for such an easy job, maximum 25 kiosk per day means 15 minutes per kiosk in 4 day week. It is dying folks. Only time will tell if redbox will be around not as kiosk based product.

    Advice to Management

Let us know what happens after this purchase. Help us understand that technology changes disrupted the kiosk business, not merchandisers trying to do the right job under a lot of pressure.
