I have been working at Redbox full-time

    Pros

The benefits are absolutely amazing. Insurance is well priced and very comprehensive, plenty of PTO, all holidays off, flexible work hours as well. For the most part a very relaxed work environment.

    Cons

The company itself has made it clear to employees they do not care about work/life balance. Expect to work 50 hours a week on little notice and without option. Management is deaf to the company culture it puts out to its workforce. The pay is not on par with the amount of work expected and required. I will gladly work 50 hours a week, but to tell me how much money the work I did made the company, and not see any of it, is a pretty hard slap in the face.

    Advice to Management

Listen to your employees in the field, they keep this company running. A one size fits all solution does not work when it comes to compensation. Saving money is just as important as making money. Policies and procedures that could be improved should be, and it should be given a priority, and not ignored

    Pros

    Great benefits, peers were great

    Cons

Upper mgmt has no clue what they are doing. You have a couple of supervisors with no managerial experience and are not technical. There is one L1, L2, TL, and QA supervisor that understand the process. The problem with L1 supervisors is they think they know the process. Also supervisors are not there during training and meetings so how do they know how the process works. Plus they don't know how to manage teams will, they are very disorganized and chit chat too much at work and do nothing. The TLs for L1 are doing the work that L1 supervisors should be doing.

    Advice to Management

Hire L1 supervisors who have technical degrees and know how to run and manage teams.
Give techs more recognition and additional raises for their hard work and effort.
Mgmt needs to listen to L1 and L2 techs more and be mindful of how they treat employees.

    Pros

Used to be great, do have some freedom, get to watch movies. But really have nothing good to say at all.

    Cons

Unrealistic goals on techs, a TON of driving, upper management knows NOTHING about what it's like to work in the field and it's very apparent. Just not a good company to work for.

    Advice to Management

    Close shop

I worked at Redbox (More than a year)

    Pros

Free movies, good pay, good benefits, good work/life balance.

    Cons

It's a dying business. They tried twice to move into streaming and failed. Physical media only has so long. Not sure how long they'll be around. Restructuring/layoffs a few times a year. Recent layoffs will strain the already tenuous communication between marketing and the field.

    Advice to Management

Be honest with your employees. Don't come to LA and tell the staff how they will be a major part of the next chapter of Redbox, then 2 weeks later lay them all off.

I have been working at Redbox full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Fleet vehicle that can be used as a let's on a lot vehicle. Also you get to be out and about and set your own times.

    Cons

The biggest con is that there is a large lack of communication between each portion of the company. Also as a field tech because you work hourly if you do a great job and your machines never go down then you don't get hours and make no money because there is no work for you. I am in one of the best markets in the company and also make the least money because of it.

    Advice to Management

Just listen to your field reps. We have a ton of great ideas that can help. The communication should flow both ways.
