I worked at Redbox full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Flexible work with a great benifits package. All major holidays off and great employees to work with.

    Cons

Change is always happening. We have lost multiple key management and there is the uncertainty of dvd going away.

    Advice to Management

Fill positions and bring more security to this company. Be innovative with the tech but your money into redbox and original content. If Redbox had great quality shows exclusive to Redbox it would build a brand even stronger.

Virtually all field positions allow you to work at your own pace without supervision.

    Cons

Some supervisors will still attempt to micro-manage.

    Pros

Partly flexible, not hard and pay is better than minimum wage.

    Cons

Growth has stopped and the company is in decline, they are now looking to satisfy shareholders by squeezing their employees.
They have cut mileage rates and service time for kiosks, they now expect employees to do 50% more work for around the same amount they were earning three years ago.
No room for improvement or development in most field markets.

    Advice to Management

Executives aren't staying around long enough to take advice, the boardroom has been a revolving door for the last 5 years.

    Pros

Flexible work hours: most people leave at 4pm and almost no one shows up on Fridays, so you basically have a 4 day work week every week.

Salaries are pretty competitive and benefits are really good

    Cons

Too many leadership changes, at least 4 in the last 3 years, resulting in multiple strategy changes and no clear understanding of what we're supposed to be doing
Layoffs once to twice a year
No accountability whatsoever, so people can do poor work and still have a job and often get promoted
Too many middle managers, almost half the staff just "manages" people and doesn't do any actual work

    Advice to Management

    Go back to school

I worked at Redbox full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

I loved my co workers. They were always helpful and it was a very laid back fun environment.

    Cons

I would get bored easily because a lot of the tasks were repetitive. (Machine tech)

    Advice to Management

Keep up the good work. I loved the open line of communication and the monthly employee reviews really helped me get a grasp on my performance.

    Pros

Flexibility, weekends off,all in all it was a great job..

    Cons

Bad corporate decisions being made, all tue emphasis was to cut costs afterwhile and it affected employee moral..They changed their reimbursement program with a months notice which took 9600/yr out of my pay..

    Advice to Management

Stop hiring CEOs and VPs from outside sources that only pad their stats and leave the company after a yr or two
