    Pros

Flexible. Free movies. Great supervisor who serves as a mentor. Great co-workers and great employees. Constant changes keeps things fresh and different. This particular theatre is beautiful, current and well kept.

    Cons

    Working holidays can be tough.

Although the constant changes keep things fresh it can also be difficult to keep up with all of them as well.

    Advice to Management

Having worked at multiple theatres for a variety of supervisors, I wish there was more constancy among them all.

I have been working at Regal Entertainment part-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

flexible scheduling especially if you’re a college student, understanding and caring managers, generally a fun environment to be in, easy to request days off

    Cons

management is a mess at times, strict on staying under 30 hours for floor staff, hours get cut quick for anyone, no benefits for part timers, the free movie policy is so strict it hardly feels worth using that luxury

    Advice to Management

actually fire the bad employees and stop giving them so many chances to just keep letting you down

I worked at Regal Entertainment part-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Free movies, discounted concessions, few amicable coworkers

    Cons

Poor management, ridiculous policies, no time off, no benefits, managers and coworkers are unhelpful and take advantage of you, fast-paced, rude customers, on your feet for the entire shift, managers trick you into staying late (past midnight), low pay for hard and laboring work, high turnover rate

    Advice to Management

Why so many managers at one location? Please communicate with each other if you are going to have 10+ managers at one theatre. Also, please stop playing favorites and make your new employees feel welcome. Perhaps for corporate: RAISE THE HOURLY WAGE if you're going to work us like slaves!

I have been working at Regal Entertainment part-time

    Pros

Flexible scheduling. Their being open so late means you can work nights if you have school or another job.
Free movies and discounts on concessions.
    Holiday pay

    Cons

Pretty much all the same cons for every minimum wage retail/food service job. Low pay, rude customers, some workplace drama.

    Advice to Management

Be the bigger person in arguments with floor staff. I haven't personally had any big drama with anyone, but I've been surprised by how long some managers will hold a grudge against staff members.

I have been working at Regal Entertainment part-time (More than a year)

    Pros

As an associate manager, you get the same benefits as floor staff. 2 Free tickets a day and half off concessions. The cast members are great everyone is really close-knit so it's a very social setting to work in. The pay for a cast member is great considering most theaters in the area only pay $7.25, cast members make $9.50. It's a great job if you're in high school or looking to make some extra money.

    Cons

    Your schedule changes every week
No weekends off unless you ask for them
    poor work-life balance

Working at this location is particularly challenging. This job is supposed to be low stress and flexible. The job itself is. Cash handling is easy. Training the staff to hit their points for the secret shopper is easy enough but the real challenge here is the GM and management. No one is on the same page here. As managers, we are supposed to make sure the theater is running as smoothly as possible that includes watching over floor staff to make sure they're doing their basic job like showing up and being on time. There have been employees who haven't shown up to their shifts for a week and haven't been terminated. There are employees who are way past a fourth step write up who haven't been terminated. Some employees feel comfortable addressing managers with direct disrespect and the GM will not do anything about it. The GM is living in la-la land. He literally wants managers to pick up staff if they don't have a ride to work. But Regal won't reimburse for gas or accident-related expenses.

There is virtually no accountability for anyone, including managers. There are managers here who act like petulant children. Everything is a crisis. Everything is the end of the world. It doesn't help when the GM runs around like a chicken with his head cut off at the first sign of trouble. The GM will never have your back. There was one situation where a customer threw a popcorn bucket at a staff member, and a floor manger stepped in confronting the customer informing them that behavior would not be tolerated. The GM came down from his office upstairs (where he spends most of his time) to readily give passes to the customer without even bothering to listen to what actually happened. This stuff happens constantly. A male manager gets into it with customers all the time. This manager has upset customers to the point where they won't ever return to our location, but when a female manager has a rare issue with a guest she is suddenly "aggressive" and "hostile" even though she was standing up for an employee. Some employees basically get away with whatever they want and no one bats an eye. Yet, one employee has a bad day one time and the GM blows his top. Discipline isn't handed out fairly.

Bottom line, It's very hard to work in a place where no one respects the GM and are actively rooting for him to fail.

    Advice to Management

Hold people accountable. managers are not babysitters
Stop micromanaging your managers. It shows you don't trust them.
