I worked at Regency Beauty Institute full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

    New facilities and nice decor

    Cons

School is run to receive Government funds which in return was against my morals and values to see such waste in enrolled students that will never license.

    Advice to Management

Have some humility and be humble. Cosmetology school is not for all that are low income qualifying for government grants. Save tax money. Be ethical...

I worked at Regency Beauty Institute full-time for more than 5 years

    Pros

We had some very talented students, the educators worked so well together it was like a family.

    Cons

They closed all 88 of their schools unexpectedly. It was devastating to many students and educators.

I worked at Regency Beauty Institute full-time for more than a year

    Pros

I worked with a few amazing people who I will always hold close to my heart. If it wasn't for these three people I would have lasted as long as I did. The new curriculum is exciting and different from any other.

    Cons

In the year and a few months that I worked there we had three area mangers, four different instructors, countless upper management. I have never seen so much turn over. The company went through a very large change and new curriculum that we were hyped up about. They failed to tell anyone there would be mass firings. We had seven employees before the changes and when I left there were two and another campuses manager was...

I worked at Regency Beauty Institute

    Pros

the facilities are clean and beautiful

    Cons

They harass employees and students. The owners and management are in the business for one reason only...to make money. They are not concerned with guiding students in the art of the business All the management cares about is producing cookie cutter students who barely pass state board and go on to work at chop shops such as super cuts, cost cutters and JC Penneys.

    Advice to Management

Take an interest in the art of the industry and training students to be the best that they can be. Upper management is way too top heavy. put more emphasis on paying good educators a good salary. Get rid of the cookie cutter mentality.

I worked at Regency Beauty Institute

    Pros

Sharing knowledge, helping others start their career

    Cons

Couldn't deviate from the lesson plans. This was frustrating because cosmetology is an artistic career and I felt like I couldn't help my students express their creativity

    Advice to Management

    Lighten up!!

I worked at Regency Beauty Institute

    Pros

    Great salary and benefits, educational

    Cons

Management and Assistant Management is not supportive of their educators. Not a structured environment, rules change often without notification to employees, and sometime hear new rules or changes from students instead of management. If you are not liked by staff, even if your job performance and attendance is good, they will find things to judge you and false reports to headquarters to get you fired Manager is young...

I worked at Regency Beauty Institute full-time for less than a year

    Pros

As an educator your schedule is pretty consistent. The benefits are pretty good, especially for this industry and if you're a new educator. If you're lazy or unimaginative, you'll like the fact that the lesson plans are already written for you.

    Cons

Regency only cares about their bottom line. The students and educators come last. The pay is poor. You rarely get backed up if you have an issue with a student, and if the students break rules they do not get reprimanded for fear of disenrollment (especially at a struggling school). You have ZERO leeway with the lesson plan.

    Advice to Management

My advice would be to raise pay, listen to educators desires and complaints, and stop looking at students as dollar signs.
