I worked at Regency Theatres part-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

You were allowed popcorn on your breaks as well as watching the movies playing, although it was pointless since your lunch break was only about half an hour.

    Cons

Immature staff, age group ranged between 16-24 years old. Definitely not recommended for anybody older than that. Awful pay and very short hours.

    Advice to Management

Manging a movie theater is no great feat, please get off your high horse and stop acting like it.

I worked at Regency Theatres part-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

The free movies are great. You can go any time.
You get free popcorn every shift that you work.
    Your coworkers are pretty great.
Flexible schedule, so good if you're in school.

    Cons

    Lack of hours
    Lack of growth opportunities
    No respect for staff
    Cleaning up human feces
    Overstaffing
No time and a half on holidays
Bare min pay for a thankless job

    Advice to Management

Show your employees that you respect them. Pay them time and a half, they deserve holiday pay. Show that you care about your theaters and fix them up rather than letting them fall apart.

I worked at Regency Theatres part-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

It's a very self explanatory job. It's a great introduction to working. It's a fun environment and the free movies are a plus. You'll get to know/interact with some really cool customers. Hard work is really appreciated.

    Cons

Very often under staffed and half the employees working won't do thier jobs anyways. Poor management. Be prepared to lose faith in humanity. Though hard work is appreciated, it's hardly rewarded.

    Advice to Management

Address the way Andrew treats employees. Actually use six month reviews and work with employees who cannot or will not do thier respective jobs.

    Cons

Not much room for growth as this is just a part time job.

I have been working at Regency Theatres as an intern (Less than a year)

    Pros

I learned how to plan events and market films to a niche audience effectively. I meet a lot of great people and made good contacts with the local community that can possibly help me land a job after college graduation.

    Cons

the drive to work is terrible.

    Advice to Management

compensate interns with a stipend or gas money.

I worked at Regency Theatres full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Great people on the floor level. Co-workers are all in the suffering together. Respect from managers except for the few with a napoleon complex.

    Cons

Broken, mismanaged and micromanaged, severely underpaid. The GM has no power, all orders come from the Golins (owners) who know nothing about running a theater. They care nothing about presentation quality, all their equipment is ancient. Their procedures are horrible, we'd be closing up at 3am even if the last show was at 11pm. Would force us to clock out and continue to work to avoid overtime.

    Advice to Management

Let your GM's run the individual theaters. Don't assume you know how to fix things if you're never there. You are clueless when it comes to theater operations and all your pointless rules make working there a pain. The infrastructure of your nightly procedures are redundant and outdated making your employees do way more work than needed and staying overtime because of the broken system. You care nothing about your projection equipment and spend no effort in improving your theaters.

    Pros

Free movies and discount on concessions stand

    Cons

A LOT of responsibilities and staff the bare minimum

    Advice to Management

Have more leeway on payroll in order to allow management to oversee staff instead of cleaning theatres and bathrooms
