I have been working at Regeneron Pharmaceuticals full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

In a biotech - IT is so critical. Technology leadership has to align with all the things that make the company so unique, creative and productive. And with the new CIO, IT is pumped and high-energy, and finally evolving at a pace to truly partner with our business!

    Cons

Not anymore - IT is a great place to be again

    Advice to Management

Please keep IT productive, evolving and excited. You need us, we want to deliver for you and we need this CIO to do it.

I worked at Regeneron Pharmaceuticals full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

can learn a decent amount about the industry and standards

    Cons

this place is a joke with too much money to waste... rampant favoritism, consistent attempts by management to micromanage and make up for incompetency, and lack of trust and transparency. when it comes to doing the work: there is compliance, then there is regeneron-style compliance which enforces way too many silly, over-the-top rules to over complicate even menial tasks. everything little bump in a project becomes a huge deal and is blown way out of proportion... completing minor things require some massive undertakings. despite what they claim, this is not progressive at all, but regeneron has tons of cash to shell out so they can continue down this path for now... very interested in seeing the fallout

    Advice to Management

curb nepotism, hire the right people for the job, learn to actually manage employees, cut dependence on contractors

I have been working at Regeneron Pharmaceuticals full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Yearly bonus and raise is never disappointing and a rarity for most local companies. There are also plenty of opportunities for advancement for those who are motivated, driven, and a little tenacious.

    Cons

It's a stressful environment because all employees are held to an extremely high standard. This can be exhausting some days, but if you're committed and up for the challenge, it can shape you for the better.

    Advice to Management

    Remember we're all human.

I have been working at Regeneron Pharmaceuticals full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Innovative, science focused, genuinely tries to do good

    Cons

Necessary systems in support functions like HR, IT, procurement, haven't been put in place to keep up with rapid pace of growth. Good scientists are rewarded with promotions to management positions that they are not always qualified for.

    Advice to Management

The company is too large to try to continue to run it as if it were still a start up. The culture is already mostly gone, and a functioning system where employees can efficiently find what they need is more valuable. It's past the time where most people know "the guy to talk to for that".
Employees should be able to review and give feedback about their managers.

    Pros

Amazing employee appreciation (extravagant events like BBQs, holiday parties, and random ice cream truck days), listens to feedback, great benefits, week between Christmas and New Years is paid time off

    Cons

Outgrowing space such as parking labs and and desk space

    Advice to Management

Focus more on positives than negatives and help grow your employees further.

    Pros

Wow. What a difference at work!!!! Higher morale in IT compared to just a couple of months ago under the former CIO. The interim CIO is an excellent choice. Positivity is back!!!! It is again a great IT department and a great place to work.

    Cons

Since we have a change in IT management and the former CIO is gone I can't find anything wrong.

    Advice to Management

Please make the Interim CIO the CIO. He is the best choice.
