I have been working at Regeneron Pharmaceuticals full-time

    Pros

First place I have ever worked that cares about the well being of their people. We get barbecues, breakfast every Friday, a decent holiday party every year and the week after Christmas off. If you have an idea to improve your group or department it's encouraged. Plenty of room to grow as you gain experience.

    Cons

Training and communication are still the biggest issues that need tackling on all levels.

I worked at Regeneron Pharmaceuticals full-time

    Pros

Good pay structure and benefits- that's it!!

    Cons

    Terrible work life balance
Toxic executive management who are arrogant and condescend to thought leaders and employees alike

    Advice to Management

Start living the REGENERON 5 with your Commercial Organization, they are the ones who will keep the lights on. Research will only get you so far.

I worked at Regeneron Pharmaceuticals full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

They pay fairly well, especially for off-shift employees

    Cons

-Terrible hours, benefits, opportunities for technical promotions
-Young management that are not qualified. Most of the managers are sleeping with another manager or someone who reports to them. On my first week at the job I was told IOPS management was "a giant orgy".
-Managers frequently use offense in group meetings, such as the "r" word and every curse word under the sun
-I have reason to believe there is racist hiring practices. The number of minorities working at IOPS is EXTREMELY low. I would say less than half that of Tarrytown.
-Its hard to get promoted unless you sleep your way to the top. I know this sounds biased, but if you look at the amount of managers who are sleeping with other managers it becomes hard to deny.

    Advice to Management

-Stop sleeping with eachother and competing with eachother. Maybe spend some time developing those who work underneath you.

I have been working at Regeneron Pharmaceuticals full-time (More than 8 years)

    Pros

Culture, Independence, Team, Resources, Talent. These are words I associate with my workplace. As a scientist, it's thrilling to be surrounded by really smart dedicated scientists. I'm not sure that the work I do every day would even be possible in most environments.

    Cons

Some territoriality between research groups. Salaries could be better. Honestly, it's hard to find much to say in the category of "cons".

    Advice to Management

When it comes to goal setting and performance evaluations, get it right. Everything changes every year.

    Pros

Fast paced, rapidly growing company with an extensive pipeline. Company goes above and beyond for its employees. Employee feedback is frequently sought and implemented. We work hard but we make time for fun also.

    Cons

Rapidly changing environment and priorities can shift often. You need to be comfortable with change and be flexible to work in this environment.

    Advice to Management

Keep doing what you’re doing. It works.

    Pros

People are professional and diligent. Company cares for the patients by delivering high quality of drugs. It care about employees needs by providing good working environment and work-life balance.

    Cons

Company is growing fast and bigger, which can result in layers of layers of collaboration and disconnection with other groups sometimes.

    Advice to Management

To ensure tightened collaboration even when the company is growing. Also to make sure the culture and business processes are cohesive and consistent throughout sites.
