I have been working at Regeneron Pharmaceuticals (More than 10 years)

    Pros

Allows employees to coast. Company worships tenure so veteran employees ride for free.

    Cons

Terrible management and culture of fear. IOPS mirrors the Trump Administration with clueless site head, incompetent, opinionated VPs.

    Advice to Management

Maybe one day just disappear from this planet. Will be better than winning the Powerball for a lot of employees.

I have been working at Regeneron Pharmaceuticals full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Perks, benefits, pay for Albany area. Tries to establish a good company. Tries to care about people. Tries to be productive.

Major career opportunities if with a story telling personality, big ego, make promises. Then deliver zero. If you can do this, apply today.

    Cons

Where do I start? Indecisive management. Know it all management. VPs dictate all you do and breaks all HR rules. Management runs over HR on a daily basis. If you're a YES person, you'll do very well in this organization. Maybe Tarrytown NY is different but be ready to work under total dictatorship in IOPS.

If you like a Caucasian American culture in a group think mentality, this place is IT! You will thrive here faking hard, playing hard. That's the culture.

If I can give zero stars, that's a compliment. This company deserves -3. Nice try, needs major improvement. Time to revamp from top down.

Talks about innovation. Delivers none. Talks about diversity, none to show. Talks about the Regeneron Five. Acts on nothing.

    Advice to Management

Time to retire. You've done enough with Eylea, got lucky, made the money. Time to let this company with great potential thrive vs. choking it with your asinine style.

I have been working at Regeneron Pharmaceuticals as a contractor (Less than a year)

    Pros

    Clean Working Environment
Honor System as opposed to being micromanaged

    Cons

As a contractor through an agency, you get NOTHING regular Regeneron employees get even though you do the same job, work the same amount of hours (with OT) etc. You automatically get paid less, are forced to wear an obnoxious orange colored badge created to draw attention to you, are not included in most company events, don't get paid for holidays, little things like not being allowed free ice cream, t shirts/souvenirs, denied entry to informative meetings, blocked from many aspects of the website etc. It's just plain ridiculous. I wouldn't advise anyone to work here as a contractor.

    Advice to Management

STOP HIRING CONTRACTORS! FILL YOUR POSITIONS WITH LONG TERM EMPLOYEES. The turn over is unnecessary.

I have been working at Regeneron Pharmaceuticals full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Nothing that can be mentioned that are significantly different from other employers in a similar category

    Cons

    FAVORITISM
    NO CAREER DEVELOPMENT
    POLITICS AT ITS WORSE
    MICROMANAGEMENT
    FEELING OF SUFFOCATION
    FALSE PROMISES FOR ADVANCENENT
    NO SICK DAYS
    NO WORK-LIFE BALANCE
    DIFFERENT STANDARDS FOR TREATING EMPLOYEES
    INNOVATION DISCARDED
OUT-OF- BOX THINKING DISCARDED & NOT ENCOURAGED
    WEIRDEST CORPORATION CULTURE

    Advice to Management

Get your act together and pay attention to the welfare of your employees, else, most of your talent is going to be gone before you know it and you're stuck with part timers or employees that don't give a damn about their work.

    Pros

Decent pipeline of products, some collaborative hard workers, free food, nice campus. I've met a lot of great people both professionally and personally who will be lifelong friends.

    Cons

I contracted at REGN for over two years in 2 different departments. One worse than the next. Incompetent, fake managers and difficult, demeaning, backstabbing and lying team leaders who do not have any concern for the professional development of temps. The "carrot dangling in front of the face" analogy is a good way to describe my experience working at Regeneron. As a contractor, you have the same exact expectations as full-time employees, without the additional benefits or perks. I would highly recommend avoiding Regeneron unless you can obtain a full-time position.

    Advice to Management

Stop relying so heavily on the work of contractors. You are a multi billion dollar organization that can't approve full-time head count? I'm not sure what goes on in that board room, but maybe Regeneron is not as ethical as they preach they are.

    Pros

    Growing Company
    Great Management (in some departments)

    Cons

    Growing Company
Piss-Piss Poor Management (in some departments)

    Advice to Management

The worst place I have ever worked from a QC standpoint. People are left to "define" their own sphere of influence. The poor workers in IOP's (and others) who have to deal with some QC people should be "Sainted".

    Pros

When the company was on the way up the stock options were very lucrative – truly golden handcuffs.

    Cons

The BDM department has fallen apart due to neglect over the past year or so. BDM Management always takes a guilty until you prove yourself innocent approach. Years of accomplishments are somehow forgotten and ignored when a promotion is requested (never given). In Clinical, there is no work/life balance, when you are employed at Regn your life is Regn.

    Advice to Management

When so many members of a dept leave, you must look to their immediate management for the cause. People don't leave a company - they leave managers.

I worked at Regeneron Pharmaceuticals full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

    - High growth organization
    - Stabilty
    - CEO/CSO are a great asset

    Cons

    - Poor HR engagement
    - Scientists and R&D folks are well taken care of. If you work in SG&A, you'd be treated like garbage
    - Growth and bonuses are based on who you know, how you know rather than skill
    - Recently updated their appraisal process to make it more vague, so that employees cannot figure out how they were rated and whether they received a good bonus or not
    - Low pay compared to the location. However if you are on the right side of favoritism, you could be filthy rich in no time
    - IT is the biggest hell hole. From leadership to vision, this is a problem area. If you have any overlap with IT, consider that you will never be able to accomplish your goals
    - Did I say, HR business partner is completely disengaged. If you leave the company they will be happy to let you go. My exit interview lasted 5 minutes. It further made me happy with my decision to move on

    Advice to Management

    - Value your employees
    - Fire all HR business partners. Reinstate a new organization
    - IT leadership needs to go through Anger Management classes
    - I do blame CEO/CSO to a large extent for being disconnected from SG&A organization's well being
    - Discussion with senior management about employee growth/opportunity should never lead to them directing employees to explore opportunities in other companies or organization. Clearly establishes how you value your high performing employees
    - Promotions and hierarchy in the organization can be granted per an Org's leader. Very poorly organized. Encourages demotivation and establishes leaders without skills
    - Westchester is a very expensive area. You need to understand the cost of living is as much as in NY. So stop lying to new employees that its not much different from NJ/CT/PA

I have been working at Regeneron Pharmaceuticals full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Great products. Local management is good. Sanofi partners locally are awesome...but corporate doesn't get it.

    Cons

Struggling to define a positive culture, any culture. Much posturing by new sales employees initially sent a science based warped culture. Now the culture is somewhat shattered...limping along. Poor communication from the top.

    Advice to Management

Senior leadership needs to communicate to sales staff more quickly & often. Seems like leadership wants to have two way dialogue but doesn't know how...there are classes for that...
