I have been working at Regeneron Pharmaceuticals full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

There are many pros to working here.
-In certain areas there are still a few people doing the job and you can still innovate.
-You are really helping patients and making a difference.
-The company has a non traditional dress code, and the ability to work from home at times.
-There are nice perks like free coffee and tea bar, beverages, and a cafeteria subsidy.
-If the stock goes up again the stock plan is a great perk.

    Cons

The major issue here is the deterioration of the culture. I've been here 7 years and what was originally here has disappeared. The intimacy and closeness with peers is gone, subsumed under a tidal wave of senior managers, associate directors, and executive directors out of big pharma. There are hundreds of directors now. People move from department to department in search of more money, power, title, etc (and often get it rather quickly with this method). Regeneron used to be a lean machine. A company of passionate multi-taskers who would innovate to get it done. Now it's full of bloat.

    Advice to Management

Please make HR work for your employees instead of by default siding with management. Discourage hiring of contractors and outsourcing work. Seriously reign in unnecessary expenses. Use common sense.. we need workers not more delegators. 360 reviews. Your employees need to ask the difficult questions and forums are not good for this. Stop rewarding politicking and department hopping.

I worked at Regeneron Pharmaceuticals full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Great company, great colleagues. The company is science driven not big pharma culture yet!!! Lots of very capable professionals in the company.

    Cons

The IT CIO HAS TO GO!!! This guy is tarnishing the Company's reputation. His buddy the CFO will not take action.

    Advice to Management

Stop bringing Pfizer former employees to Regeneron. They are really different cultures.

I have been working at Regeneron Pharmaceuticals full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

If you have limited skills you can survive for a very long time.

    Cons

Several employees with limited skills hang around for a very long time. Unprofessional, scared to move into the 21st century. Not many processes for standard business practices. Hard to advise unless you conform to the status quo.

    Advice to Management

Shake the tree and hire change makers. The veteran employee is great but what new skills can they provide if they don't have any other business skills to bring to the company. Change is GREAT...Advancing the company to the next level can only be done by people who bring new ideas.

I worked at Regeneron Pharmaceuticals as an intern (Less than a year)

    Pros

Worked with real, challenging business data. I was able to play in a sandbox for most of the internship. Free coffee bar within minutes from my desk

    Cons

Minimal relations with other interns. The internship was not very challenging and would go hours without communication with manager. Minimal expectations as an intern

    Advice to Management

Spend some money on Intern retreats and activities outside of the workplace. Rework the internship program for higher intern retention.

    Pros

    Teamwork, great corporate culture

    Cons

Work in silos, too aggressive, no work/life balance

    Advice to Management

Senior management should have a better Idea of how middle management is performing

I have been working at Regeneron Pharmaceuticals full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Great pay for little experience, good opportunity for growth, opportunity to work with the country's greatest minds in Biotech, a rapidly growing company

    Cons

A lot of responsibility at entry level positions, long hours are required even though they say optional, high level of stress and very ambiguous goals to reach for, plant at capacity and there is no parking for employees on site, people are sitting at tables instead of proper desks due to "rapid growth"

    Advice to Management

Establish structure within groups so employees clearly know where they stand within that structure, don't expect too much out of your employees without fighting for their compensation, don't treat everyone as equal when there are drastic differences between your employees

I have been working at Regeneron Pharmaceuticals (More than a year)

    Pros

Good job security. Compensation is decent. A casual, often sociable workplace environment. Opportunities to have significant input on new business processes. Senior management keeps employees well informed.

    Cons

The next few years are going to be a make or break test for the company. Regeneron IOPS has some major cultural issues that must be addressed if the company is remain successful.

Employees are constantly being asked to do more, faster, and with less resources which can lead to unrealistic timelines. While the workplace is casual, it is also prone to promoting cliques which can be very disruptive. Moreover, interdepartmental and intergroup conflict is common and, in some cases, quite severe.

Many employees do not really care about their work and just do the minimum required to get by. Compounding the issues, lower level managers and supervisors are poorly trained and were promoted based on seniority rather than aptitude. Some supervisors are quite disrespectful towards employees and promote an environment of negativity.

    Advice to Management

Senior management needs prioritize fixing the deeply ingrained cultural issues ASAP. Invest more in training more in training supervisors and lower level managers. Provide more opportunities for career advancement.

    Pros

good company. good learning. number of people is less compared to work so you get ot do lot of things andlearn lot of thing.

    Cons

no work life balance. no balance on the reward in temrs of risk. people who are working hard and taking responsibility are paid less than people who just finish their job.

    Advice to Management

management needs to focus on rewarding people who are taking more responsibility and working hard. it is not good to pay more to hourly people just because you want to get good review from them.

I have been working at Regeneron Pharmaceuticals full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

A best reason to work there because its pay could be competitive and you a great immediate supervisor.

    Cons

Two challenges are that it overstated its scientific flexibilities and curiosity, and it operates heavily in seniority culture to a degree that it is counterproductive.

    Advice to Management

The advice is to learn from people with unique expertise within the company. Encourage learning from mistakes by actions not just by words.
