I have been working at Regeneron Pharmaceuticals full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Very good compensation with plenty of perks like free coffee, Friday morning breakfast, and an on-site fitness center (albeit very small). More meaningful benefits include PTO (which increases after 5 years) as well as an unbridled Recognition/Reward program.

    Cons

Trinkets and 'swag' often leads to false assumption of employee opinion. Not coincidentally, Regeneron has a heavily devoted interest in keeping a pristine reputation as a top employer to work for; this is far too forced with far too much chest-thumping. Areas that need focus are ignored but pompous, self-assertion is never in short supply.

Regeneron’s quality systems are in need of major upgrades and not just in a software sense, but philosophically; they are misused at almost every level. This leads to the false prioritization of resources whether it is from QA, Manufacturing, QC and/or elsewhere. Everything becomes distraction work while genuine problems or the roots of problems remain unresolved.

    Advice to Management

Allow departments/individuals with industry knowledge to do their jobs and make the necessary changes for the company to grow successfully. More importantly, recognize the necessary changes and avoid the cosmetic ones.

Worry about THIS company’s modus operandi and determine whether it makes sense in terms of operations – do not choose to do OR NOT do because ‘that’s how other companies do it.’

    Pros

You don’t really have to know what you’re doing to get ahead here. Manage like - What, me worry? Also, if you have a nice smile and know how to please your insecure boss while suppressing your troglodyte peers, you will find nirvana here.

    Cons

This place is run like a cult. Everyone is made to believe that they’re too stupid to make decisions. Therefore, every decision is deferred to the collective made up of people who don’t have the knowledge to make the decision or any responsibility in the decision. The collective is guided by overseers anointed by the grand leader for being the most thoroughly brainwashed or socially potent. HR is nothing more than an outreach branch for the cult, generating propaganda and group activities for us to all feel good about being lead by the gracious overseers and the grand leader. It is afterall, a great place to work.

    Advice to Management

Be willing to identify your enemies, and build up your team to support you in your battles. Freedom is worth the conflict. Because wrong people can’t get power by being functional, they can only get power by others being complicit to their insistence of power. Disagreeability may also wake up QA to start doing their jobs.

I worked at Regeneron Pharmaceuticals full-time

    Pros

The company is a leading biotech and exciting technology and products. Pays well and stock option may be a value.

    Cons

Life balance is poor. Management is not doing a good job and put too much pressure on employees. Stock options become less valuable.

    Advice to Management

Try to focus on people's strengths. Do not micro manage. Create more opportunities for dialogues. Hear more feedback from employees.

    Pros

    Don't know of any

    Cons

There are more paths to getting fired at Regeneron than there are to getting hired or advancing. This is a toxic work environment.

    Advice to Management

Be straight with employees about job stability

    Pros

Very generous to employees (get to leave early before holidays, free breakfast on Fridays, etc.), challenging but rewarding work with plenty of room for growth.

    Cons

Rapid expansion has led to oftentimes crowded laboratories and cube farms. Fast-paced environment leads to regular overtime work and last-minute changes.

    Pros

    Ability to learn and grow
    Understanding management
    Great benefits

    Cons

MFG is treated very differently than rest of Company, for obvious reasons, but there should be compensation for that
    Cut throat Competition
Clueless Managers who want nothing to do with their employees

    Advice to Management

Make employees feel valued and included. Strive to become a better manager of your people, not just to push product out.
