    Pros

Excellent benefits. Great facilities. Corporate environment in terms of performance appraisals and incentives. Great access to learning and development training courses.

    Cons

Difficult to rise ranks if you are younger. There is a hierarchy that must be followed - a lot of people that have been there for a long time believe in "earn your stripes" and promote based on number of years of experience rather than merit.

I worked at Region of Peel full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Your safety shoes are covered and they might give you a water bottle depending on the yearly budget, also you can spend useless amount of company hours browsing the garage other staff members are trying to sell through a internal portal called pathways ( Region of Peel kijiji ) so if you want a gently tossed down the stairs treadmill or PAMA tote bag this organization is perfect for you

    Cons

Almost everything... racist, dysfunctional and slower than dirt

    Advice to Management

    Retire already...

I have been working at Region of Peel full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

    Colleagues....not much else at all...

    Cons

A place where your tax dollars are going to uneducated and unqualified management making 5 figures. Parking is limited and the Tims is not real.

    Advice to Management

    Restructure and downsize unecessary management.
Increase education requirements for those in supervisory roles.
Stop paying lip service to your bogus 'values'.

I worked at Region of Peel part-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Overall, positive learning experience, as there are many resources and connections to be made at the organization.

    Cons

My manager refused blatantly to be a reference for me although I was a great student. He said he did not know me well enough (What?!), even though he ignored me most of the time. After the placement, they continued to demand work from me. It was terrible.

    Advice to Management

Keep better rapport between the student coordinator and manager of department. Make sure your students are not having their rights violated in any way. I felt exploited.

I have been working at Region of Peel full-time

    Pros

The opportunity for upward mobility exists if you can break past management's tendency to cast people into silos. There is a very clear division between labour positions and administration positions within my division.

    Cons

Pay is not competitive, turnover is high, burnout rate is high, constant disregard for safe/efficient work processes and management is completely out of touch with the duties of the people they oversee.

    Advice to Management

Listen to ALL of your employees, carefully consider all changes in processes, pay market rate for the positions you're hiring for and put a larger emphasis on safety and efficiency.

    Cons

    Advice to Management

Deliver what's actually needed to the clients.
