I have been working at Regional Transportation District full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Steady work and job security if you stay in compliance with safety rules and regulations.

    Cons

Poor pay for the expense of the area which means they can't keep people forcing the people who stay to work mandated additional hours per week.

    Advice to Management

Pay more to get quality people who will stay longer thus increasing staffing numbers and decreasing turn over which in turn will decrease mandated work schedules.

I have been working at Regional Transportation District full-time (More than 8 years)

    Pros

Can be rewarding. I was vested. Will receive a pension upon retirement age. The pay is a good amount of pay.

    Cons

DOT is ran by Concentra. Concentra should not run such a sensitive program. The management doesn't fight for you. As an employee you are completely replaceable.

    Advice to Management

    Fight for your employees.

I worked at Regional Transportation District full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

    really good medical/dental/vision benefits.
RTD covers about 90% of the premium and also gives a $1500 HSA allocation if you have a family plan. Time off is alright, pretty standard for companies that size

    Cons

They live by the mantra, "this is the way we've always done it". They're not open to new or different methods and don't like change.

    Pros

Money and benefits. The retirement system was changed to a 457 with less benefits.

    Cons

Hours and lack of fairness. people are promoted not on their ability, but on their frenships.

    Advice to Management

Be honest. The morale in the company is poor due to so many lies.
