I have been working at Regions Financial full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Steady solid goals; slow albeit happening digital conversions; cares for employees; paid training; numerous opportunities for banking advancement

    Cons

Highly sales driven; has a few outdated banking practices; customers either love or hate.

    Advice to Management

Redefine referrals for tellers. Bankers not meeting their end shouldn't cause tellers not to make payout.

I worked at Regions Financial full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

The benefits were standard. Each branch had its own subculture and felt more like family than coworkers.

    Cons

Working Saturdays, but it was only 3 hours. Sometimes that was the busiest day of the week.

    Pros

Great co workers, great customers, learned plenty. Twenty words twenty words twenty words twenty words twenty words twenty words done

    Cons

CBM is only about PE, all she wants to hear is that you made lots of production every day. I didn't take this job to just sell credit cards

    Advice to Management

    Worry less about PE

I worked at Regions Financial full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Great company overall in other markets! The customers and the coworkers! The products they offer the customers. They spend the money to train you to get you licensed.

    Cons

Don't bother! They are prejudice especially against African Americans and people with dreads and disabilities! Come on, it's 2015. Explains why jobs (especially teller positions) are always available. I suppose this is job security for HR. This is true of employees in Arkansas, so I don't want to taint the entire company, just this market.

Pay is low for current staff and outsiders make more than those already employed. Come in for the experience, move up, get the title and get out. They don't work to keep what they invest in.

They add more and more duties and give less and less in pay and bonuses. The bonus structure continues to change so that you get less and are barely rewarded for what you do. What's the point of promoting the bonuses during the hiring process but you have to risk life and limb just to get $1500/qtr for managers and less for other positions.

    Advice to Management

Get rid of the under handed racism! It starts from the top. Pay your employees in the branches for all they go through and hard work they do! We interface with the bulk of the community, but make the least. Give a real bonus!

I worked at Regions Financial part-time (More than a year)

    Pros

    Close to home.
    Most co-workers were great.
Coworkers would help anyone make their goals by the end of the month if you were lacking.

    Cons

Do not work with school schedules, even after getting approval from management, but because higher up didn't agree with it, they will fire you, but make it seem as if you resigned.
Almost like a hoity-toity "i'm better than you" attitude from co-workers.
Pushy sales goals for those who are not salespeople, but try all the time.

    Advice to Management

Lay off the sales goals. Treat your employees like people. Don't lie to or trick lower employees into something they don't know what they're doing to save your butts.

I worked at Regions Financial full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Working inside when conditions are less than favorable outside, wearing suit and ties.

    Cons

Constant sales push from an unrelenting number of sources, if you didn't get a credit card or get your numbers you looked like a scumbag.

    Advice to Management

You wonder why the retail banking positions are constantly needed? Lay off the high pressure tactics for members to perform and focus on other ways for the bank to make money.

    Pros

You get decent benefits and paid holidays.

    Cons

There was no encouragement or assistance to advance within the company.

    Advice to Management

Do better when hiring branch managers and listen to your employees when all of them have a complaint about said manager.

I have been working at Regions Financial full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

They like to promote from within. There are a lot of wonderful people in management who are willing to lead you on the right direction to move up if that is the track you choose. High standards for goals, but they make it reachable with enough energy and focus.

    Cons

The pay is good in comparison to many competitors, but for a head teller, the responsibility is high, and the pay should reflect that more. The teller pay rate is good, but BSL should be closer to BTL pay in terms of expectations and responsibilities.

    Advice to Management

Advice is readily available when sought after, but it would be nice if there was more career guidance. During performance reviews, maybe tell the person what potential they see.

I worked at Regions Financial full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

There is great career mobility, especially for the financial industry

    Cons

Compensation is too low, causing the top talent of the company to seek employment where they feel more equitably rewarded.

    Advice to Management

More competitive salary. You are losing your best talent because your best feel undercompensated. The career opportunities are strong, especially for the financial industry; however, that doesn't make up for undercompensating your best talent.
