I have been working at Regions Hospital part-time

    Pros

Flexible work environment, their is always mobility within the company. They will help you pay for your education if it would help you get into a different job area that that they have; such as nursing, pharmacist, etc.

    Cons

Huge hospital, hard to build long term relationships with coworkers (if that is something you value).

I worked at Regions Hospital full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Benefits were great, including paid time off
Positive work environment, for the most part

    Cons

Over my time at Regions, I slowly realized there was no growth in my position. In a business role, my manager/supervisor didn't seem to want to develop me despite requests for more responsibility or work and there was really no upward movement for me. In my last months with the company, the managers all took promotions and salary increases, but I was stuck in my 2.5% a year salary increase that wouldn't change until a position opened up. Not a good place for a young professional to stay, as many of the staff has been there for 15+ years.

    Advice to Management

Develop your young and promising employees and give them a reason to stay.

    Be more transparent.

    Pros

Modern environment and equipment. Joint commission focused initiatives. Security's available very quickly when needed. Tuition reimbursement is available if applicable to job.

    Cons

Parking can be a challenge. I have to park a couple blocks away which can be a long walk in the winter.

I worked at Regions Hospital part-time

    Pros

Great community, benefits, and salary. Wonderful patient care and everyone works together.

    Cons

    I loved working at Regions

    Advice to Management

Hopefully in the future Per Diem staff will be able to apply for FT positions in addition to PT. Positions would be more attractive if they did not require weekends/holidays.

I have been working at Regions Hospital (Less than a year)

    Pros

Great experience, great teamwork, and high level of skill. I would go here for treatment without a doubt. It is a very good hospital.

    Cons

I think that leadership is lacking in some areas. Especially as it pertains to listening to the RN's and making changes that benefit them. I think the focus could be more on employee satisfaction.

    Advice to Management

Listen to your employees and make changes that benefit them. Higher nurse satisfaction is linked with better patient outcomes.

I have been working at Regions Hospital (More than 3 years)

    Pros

The company provides a certain amount of money for nurses to get continuing education credits. There is also a different stash of money that reimburses for certifications that nurses study for and get. There is yearly bonus check nurses get for a maximum of 2 certifications.
Great health benefits package especially in-network.
    Shared-governance model is excellent.

    Cons

Parking ramp is a distance away.
Non-union which I think is important to some nurses and not important to other nurses.
