I have been working at Regions Hospital full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Salary is higher than most other hospitals in the metro. Plenty of hours are available, offer lots of OT.

    Cons

I don't feel supported by senior leadership
I wish they took safety and security concerns more seriously. I often don't feel safe at work
While they can't control this, the patient population is difficult, demanding, and violent

I worked at Regions Hospital full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

The healthcare providers and services are fantastic!

    Cons

HR and Leadership don't respect employees. They take advantage of hardworking employees.

    Advice to Management

Don't haze new employees by piling on excessive work while others have very little.

I have been working at Regions Hospital full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

    Benefits are pretty good
    Generous PTO
    Work-life balance
    Work is always interesting

    Cons

There is no paid maternity or parental leave or day care on site. This seems outdated in a hospital that not only has a large percentage of female employees, but also has a female CEO and largely female leadership.
Health Partners (the parent company) employees get far better benefits and pay, but we are a safety-net hospital and our pay and benefits are ok.

    Advice to Management

Please consider having a paid parental leave policy.

I worked at Regions Hospital full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Always making a difference with your work because no matter you're role, you're impacting patient experience. Also, senior leadership is great even though you'll rarely see them. Great benefits!

    Cons

Limited opportunity for growth in more typical office-type roles, especially if you're just starting out. You'll work with people who have long tenure which means you can learn a lot but in some situations it means you're working with some folks who are averse to the idea of changes. Workplace culture is fine - it is what you make of it.
