I have been working at Regis Salon part-time

    Pros

Walk in clients, during busy times.

    Cons

Very outdated. The shop has needed work for years and it doesn’t get done. They want the stylists to do everything..cleaning (beyond the typical), repairs, marketing, and we even have to go get our own color sometimes! For employees on commission, you are not getting paid to be a maid, etc. You get paid when you are doing hair. They should compensate for slow times.

    Advice to Management

Revamp the salons. Clients don’t want to get their hair done in a place with floors worn down to nothing, and ceiling tiles all stained up. It looks bad for the price the client is paying.

I have been working at Regis Salon full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

Mall locations bring in walk in guests and other stores in mall are getting updated every 10 years.

    Cons

Store falling apart. Wall paper falling off wall, floor breaking, computers are slow and out dated. Shampoo bowls broken. Salons have poor ventilation.

    Advice to Management

Build it and they will come.

I have been working at Regis Salon full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

People I work with, the guest I've been serving for some time. I'm able to be creative and do the work I love to do!

    Cons

Absolutely no perks! You work long hours. End up working by yourself till your boss decides to get someone in, even though you have a full book. Employee calls off all the time and nothing gets done about it. There's nothing to do when someone calls off punishment wise. Sitting or in my case cleaning all day because there's no clients during the week. The salon is literally falling apart Ect, ect....the list goes on.

    Advice to Management

Advertising is huge!!!!! Don't do it when it's too late. Creating a team atmosphere. Take care of the salon.

    Pros

Lots of walk in clients makes it easy to build a following. Free products and 401k

    Cons

Poor management. Really low commission rate. They’ll tell you that you’ll start out with higher commission percentage then give you ten percent less.

    Advice to Management

Pay stylists better. Hire qualified managers instead of your friends.

I have been working at Regis Salon part-time (More than 8 years)

    Pros

great products, lots of walk ins...not to many more pros but have to use the twenty word minimum.. Have a great manager but she’s currently ready to quit due to being constantly harassed by sdl

    Cons

horrible pay scale and no advancement...there cuttin costs by taking away all salon equipment and the sdl is even making the salons do their own painting, changing light fixtures amy any hazardous duties that a maintenance man shld be doing...is the company LIABLE IF SOMEONE FALLSFROM A LADDER OR GETS ELECTROCUTED??

    Advice to Management

get a new sdl! she harasses and constantly “bullies” the managers...i was a previous manager and dropped due to her i’ve been doing hair 10+ years and have a full book! i constantly have a high percentage rate but am currently ready to walk due to sdl! she’s horrible as a person and a manager! the company needs to call around the area and personally speak to currant employees and managers!!!!

    Pros

    Good for a beginner

    Cons

They treat their employees as if they are disposable. Pay is minimal and it's nearly impossible to hit commissions when you first start because of the scheduling rules.

    Advice to Management

Treat your employees the way you would want them to treat your guests...

    Pros

The company cares about who you are and invests in making you a better leader at every level. Benefits are great, health, dental, and you can prepare for your future by moving into the job that you feel fits you the best.

    Cons

Like every other company, we have changed the people leading the corporation which changes how we run the busines. But at the end of the day, we make people beautiful, so the rest is just how we get there!

    Advice to Management

Do more radio and television adds for our division it would help drive traffic and help with hiring.
