I have been working at Register Tapes Unlimited full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

This is a great job for anyone who is hard working, loves to have fun and loves to have CONTROL OF THEIR OWN TIME! I have been working for RTUI from home for the past year and I love it; this job will allow you to
    -work from home
-spend more time with your family
-travel whenever necessary without any issue
-make AS MUCH MONEY AS YOU WANT! as long as you are willing to work hard
-there is a base pay along with commission

    Cons

this job is NOT for you if you are not self motivated! A lot of people will be unsuccessful here because they don't like to organize themselves. You will be working from home which means it's up to YOU to be successful. YOU need to be willing to find your leads, YOU need to motivate yourself when you're in a slump and YOU need to be willing to go the extra mile. even in my most difficult week, it is no harder than any job i've worked outside the home.

This job is also strict, meaning if you don't make your sales goals they could fire you without warning. But, as long as you're doing everything you can to be successful and showing that you're making an effort then you should be fine.

Management can be mean and impersonal though, so I wish that could change! also, no 401k or healthcare so you'll have to consider that if it's a priority.

    Advice to Management

Be nice, be nice, be NICE! this is a difficult yet rewarding job, and sometimes people fall into a slump. It's more helpful to encourage than to threaten or lack compassion. otherwise this is a great company and I truly appreciate the privilege to work here!

I worked at Register Tapes Unlimited full-time

    Pros

No pros. Only Cons. Just like RTUI having such a bad reputation that they changed names to indoor media. Its the same company, same owners. Let me explain it this way. If you see the name rtui, whether its for a job or customer, what happens? People run away. If you call it indoor media, people are caught off guard not knowing its the same everything. CON.

    Cons

There are no upsides. Only headaches and empty pockets. Except for father and daughter and the old guy silent partner.

    Advice to Management

Sell it all and rid the nation of your BS.

  5. "They keep money they owe you if you leave"

Former Employee - Sales Representative in Minneapolis, MN

I worked at Register Tapes Unlimited full-time

    Pros

Potential to earn a lot of money (in theory), operating independently

    Cons

As an independent contractor/sales agent, the recruiter may tell you that you have protected territory... this is not the case as you are actually competing with other RTUI agents for accounts.

Unless you sign merchants up for a yearly contract and collect the entire amount up front you do not receive the entire commission right away. You could receive 50% of the commission on your pay check and the other 50% you'll be paid six months later.

If you leave the company and you are owed money you do not receive it. They bury that clause in the contract.

    Advice to Management

Stop screwing people on pay when they leave.

    Pros

Only pro would be that you can wear whatever you want , which can be a con as well.

    Cons

Poor management running great employees off, the pay is not worth everything that you are expected to do.

    Advice to Management

To upper management, if you have a high turnover in a department, maybe you should focus on the manager of that department.
