    Pros

    Therapists work well together and offer to help out others when they can with scheduling, communication and more. It's a great team of people.

    Cons

    Hours can fluctuate. This is normal in any therapy setting. The only con would be it can get busy and loud in therapy because it's a big place.

    Advice to Management

    It would be nice to have periodic review to know how you are doing as a therapist, ways you can grow and positive things that are noticed. Feedback is important.

    Pros

    Excellent benefits, generous time off, very generous continuing education package. I quit in 2012 to be closer to my home. Wish I had stayed with them though. Now that I look back, it was worth the long drives in the dangerous weather.

    Cons

    A lot of driving in bad weather between facilities, but that's to be expected in the rural area we were in. In 2012, documentation was with ipads, but evaluations were still paper forms and very time-consuming so it was hard to get good productivity ratings on days with several evaluations to do.

    Advice to Management

    If you have not yet gone to computers for all documentation, do so! It will save you a lot of productivity time for your employees.

    Pros

    Good pay, started at $35/hour for the Boston area

    Cons

    With rehab in general, there are no guarantees for you to get hours, so some weeks I'd work 25 hours, others I'd work 50. The worst part specifically to RehabCare was the productivity expectation of 88% for OTRs and 90% for COTAs - this caused pressure to clock out between sessions to keep productivity up.

    88-90% productivity rate is unrealistic

    The therapists and most lower/middle management and administrative staff are fantastic!

    Cons

    Upper management lacks communication with lower management, customer is always first and employees last, employees do not feel valued by management

    excellent co-workers, nice facility, benefits

    Cons

    Never get a raise with no justification, Unpredictable work days , management focused only on productivity, lack of team approach and training specific to departments, not family oriented, constantly short-staffed, and unable to use PTO without covering for self.

    Advice to Management

    Should work harder to implement changes with upper corporate management to discontinue policies which engender working off- the- clock to meet unrealistic expectations. Should try to look beyond the short term productivity to see long-term benefits of an employee and family friendly work place.

    I worked at RehabCare part-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

    Ipad documentation which allows for point of care documentation. Beautiful building with therapy gym of good size/good selection of equipment. Close in parking.

    Cons

    Unrealistic productivity standards. Poor communication of expectations. Little staff interaction with company orientation being provided via videos on the computer(lots of them). Odd layout of Memory Care unit which increased foot traffic and distractions for residents making treatment even more challenging - you really are treating in a hallway!. Little time available for staff collaboration or feedback. Lots of issues with the Ipad documentation software- throws you out of program, gets "stuck", won't sync, etc. necessitating a call to IT and waiting for them to return your call.

    Advice to Management

    Standardized orientation would be beneficial. Better communication within the building among therapy staff and interdisciplinary regarding patient issues, changes in status, schedules, availability - would save time and running around.
