    I worked at RehabCare full-time

    Pros

It use to be a very good company

    Cons

This company lost the contract in the building I was working in, the only communication with employees was through the rehab manager. There was nothing offered to us as far as another job within company, we had to search out job openings. When I decided to end my employment with them after 9 years due to no area openings within the company, the response I got was, "we will miss you". Seriously..that is it after 9 years of dedication and hard work, maintaining productivity and covering extra days when asked. Poor staff retention, truly made me feel I had never really mattered

    Advice to Management

    Retaing good staff is important.

If you don’t care about losing your license, this is the place to be! Bottom line all the company and supervisors care about is productivity. There is no proper training regarding the documentation program that is used but best believe from day one they are harassing you to make sure you are seeing all your patients on your caseload for the time allotted and no less. They call you unprofessional for not giving a proper notice of resignation but they fail to understand working for a company like that seems to be more immoral and unethical. In no way would I recommend someone to work for this company however if you do make sure to research your facility. Unfortunately I had no information regarding the facility and risked it.
    Unethical!
    All about business!
    Unprofessional
    Pay not that great

    Advice to Management

Look into therapists and the way they practice! Like for instance if no on site director in facility make sure everyone is working ethically and make unexpected visits. That’ll tell you a lot of who is working for the company!

    Pros

    My co-workers and the patients.

    Cons

Everything else is a con with this company.

    Advice to Management

I am not wasting my time as they don't read or do anything that is supportive of hard working employees.

    I worked at RehabCare full-time

    Pros

They had a contract with an inpatient acute rehab hospital. Easy to get a job, interview process wasn’t that hard.

    Cons

The company is all about productivity and numbers. I was asked to use my own time (unpaid obviously) to make handouts for patients and for daily documentation.
Very much profit oriented and were focused on admitting any warm body rather than based on criteria for acute rehab. Couldn’t wait to get out of that place!

No sign on bonus, no great benefits, expensive health insurance even through the employer.

Stay away unless you’re desperate for hospital experience or any adult population experience. But be prepared to deal with a lot of micromanaging.

    Advice to Management

Care for the welfare of your patients and not about making a profit. Visit the sites and consider the suggestions of the staff.

    Pros

If you like spending all of your time working for a company that doesnt value your time while being underpayed, then this is the job for you!

    Cons

where to begin... this company has no value in their employees. They overwork and understaff their facilities. Their pay is below average especially considering the fact they give you the work of two therapists and they expected one therapist to cover every weekend because they were too cheap to hire another full time therapist. There were no exceptions. They don't care about their employees and it shows. This is by far the worst company I've ever worked for and I would not recommend any therapist to take a job with rehabcare.

    Advice to Management

Read the cons and figure it out. You're paying people in positions that are literally created just to overlook certain regions far more money than the people who are actually bringing in the money. You need to reevaluate how you do business because

Co-workers, patients and nursing home staff

    Cons

Don't dare ask for a raise after almost 2 years, you'll lose everything! They reduce you to PT, retaliate, punish (informally), take away benefits, but charge them for 6 months after and then when you're finally forced to quit because no one on any level would help, advertise your same job WITH benefits at PT!

    Advice to Management

Get a grip on this! I believe it's unlawful. I'll be checking into that....

    Pros

Basically good benefits as compared to most companies. Staff was friendly. Buildings were nice I worked in. Manager was ok but never did my orientation.

    Cons

They hire you full time then there is no caseload for you to treat. They have you pick up inappropriate patients when caseload is low and keep other patients too long. Documentation system never worked in the buildings I was in. Turnover rate very high!!!!

    Advice to Management

Keep up with the times for documentation.
