Pros
Strong, stable growing company that cares for employees and the patients that we serve.
Cons
Perhaps there is a little bit of room for improvement with communication from corporate to staff level employees.
- Current Employee★★★★★
Pros
Many facilities to choose from.
Cons
Productivity vs patient care is the focus. Impossible to complete paperwork during patient care time and still provide quality care. Group treatments are highly encouraged weather appropriate or not. Bonuses are not worth the personal time you give away to keep your productivity at an acceptable level. Pay not worth the headache.

Unreasonable Unethical and ultimately Unsustainable
Jan 28, 2011 -RecommendCEO ApprovalBusiness OutlookPros
Exceptional contract facilities, Great rehab team, Convenient access to HR and benefits help-staff via telephone, Paid on time, Decent hourly rate, Benefits fair though not exceptional
Cons
Rehabcare demands unreasonable productivity standards and offers no support to build a caseload within facility. Although we had worked off the clock to try and build caseload and finish paperwork, the compliance officers stated 'no work off the clock.' Upper management skirts ethical borders and do not offer any creative support to improve productivity while providing good patient care and the non-billable follow-up which is necessary. Program directors are micro-managed and perform redundant duties which unnecessarily detract from the company's almighty productivity-driven bottom line.

Pros
Good documentation equipment okay reimbursement for CEU's
Cons
No room for advancement no raises poor benefits Care more about money than about employees or patients

Pros
The only pro for this company (and the only reason 95% of the rehab staff is still there) is for something that has nothing really to do with the actual company, as RehabCare is a national conglomerate with multiple sites that consist of SNFs, ALFs, acute hospitals, etc. Our Rehab Director is a fantastic boss, and pulls the whole department together into one big work family. The rest of the staff is also very supportive and caring, so really the only pro of the company is the people I work with at the particular RehabCare facility I work at.
Cons
The executives of the company make a huge profit day after day and pay their staff pitiful salaries in comparison. On top of that the only couple of raises I have seen in my 3.5 years there for the entire department literally just amounts to pennies, and is laughable at best. They have incredibly unrealistic expectations of their employees, those people who are in the trenches and are actually doing the real work, and yet never offer any incentive besides those of the threatening variety. They are a Rehab company, and yet instead of focusing on and emphasizing patient care, they emphasize profit day after day. The healthcare benefits that the company offers are also terrible.

Used to be a good company
Oct 28, 2015 - Physical Therapist Assistant in Baltimore, MDRecommendCEO ApprovalBusiness OutlookPros
Lots of locations in the Baltimore / Washington D.C. metro area
Cons
management focuses on productivity above patient care little concern by senior management for employees therapists are pushed to be unethical in order to make minutes constantly changing policies; each change worse than the last

Pros
My last Director of Rehab was amazing. She really looked out for her employees and patients.
Cons
The company often cared more about scheduling patients for maximum minutes even when it wasn't medically necessary. The point of service documentation on I-pads really took away from patient care. Also as a new graduate I wasn't trained or even given a proper tour of the facility I was to work in. I often felt RehabCare was more motivated by profit than patient care.

Occupational therapist

I no longer work for them
Cons
I was out-sourced to Kindred in fall 2015. When my hospital cancelled the contract in summer 2017, cheers were heard throughout the land. The CEO of the hospital actually apologized for sending us to “this snake oil” of a company. As you read above, the unethical and just shy of illegal push to see patient with total disregard to care is their modus operondi. All the regulations that the therapists have to follow are a result of “consent decrees” from their settlements with the feds on their fraud and abuse cases, (over$130 million for over charging of patients and not properly paying for overtime). In these cases they admitted no wrong, and just settled to stop the investigations and legal cases from proceeding. So happy not to be with them anymore.

- Former Intern★★★★★
Pros
Most of the therapists want to give the patients the best care possible despite management pull for high productivity.
Cons
There was an underlying competitive feeling to get the highest productivity rate...not very professional

There is a bonafide lack of integrity behind closed doors
Oct 9, 2018 -RecommendCEO ApprovalBusiness OutlookPros
Coworkers not behind closed doors
Cons
Dishonest management who will sugar coat anything in order to “get minutes” while overlooking true patient care and under-valuing its workers
