I have been working at Related Management full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Pay is decent, union benefits, random tips throughout year especially Christmas time, paid days off, sick time off, sometimes nice co-workers

    Cons

Upper management does not care for workers, overworks them and expect a lot from them, overworked, doubles are brutal 16 hour shift with 8 hour turnover for next shift, management has no care about you or what you have to say until you threaten to go to HR, treated like trash by residents, uniforms are horrible material and quality and don't ever fit well, treated like garbage, disrespected by management and residents

    Advice to Management

Listen to employees and actually care what they have to say

    Pros

-The company has great ideas and philosophies, truly, the stability of any company is its management and supervisors.
    -Large and growing profolio

    Cons

company grew too big too fast and need a closer look at all areas of roles to services.
Not competitive - salaries are not competitive to the industry. Much lower in most cases and most positions.
    Need better career growth opportunities.
The quality of the physical product (apartment interiors and finishes) are not up to par with the competition but plans to renovate and upgrade are at minimal.

    Advice to Management

Research - competitive sets should be continuously researched and should adjust the quality of the products to match what the market really wants.

Salaries should be competitive to what is available in the market.

I worked at Related Management full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

The medical insurance was very good any the holiday schedule was generous.

    Cons

There is no such thing as respect based management, work life balance or regard for doing the right thing when it comes to leadership and HR at this company. Consistently hired weak employees with mediocre skill sets. Outside of NYC or the market portfolio I would be very reluctant to work for this company at all. There's no work life balance, whether or not expectations are realistic (and frequently there were not for on-site staff).

    Advice to Management

    Is advice they wouldn't take.

Clear the decks and start rebuilding a management company worthy of the Related brand.

I worked at Related Management full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Compensation was very competitive, good benefits and definitely one of the most prestigious luxury rental companies in NY.

    Cons

Management was unapproachable and distant. Technology, software and other tools were in disarray and in many situations employees were left to fend for themselves without much support.

    Advice to Management

Try to change the sterile corporate culture that permeates the company.
