    Pros

They have the ability and resources to achieve whatever they desire.

    Cons

They have no desire to provide a safe and healthy work environment to the vast majority of their employees and subcontractors. The loss of human life is not an exception but rather the expectation

    Advice to Management

Practice what you preach all the time not just when others are watching.

    Pros

    Good office, good work-life balance

    Cons

No growth for young employees, less opportunity to learn as people do not co-operate. Very bad work culture. Highly bureaucratic

    Advice to Management

Get rid of so many hierarchical layers, and simplify processes

I worked at Reliance Industries full-time

    Pros

You sit in the office all day and do nothing. Literally nothing. So, there's lots of opportunities available at work to catch up on sleep and thus you have a great work life balance coz there's no work but no life either.
Great opportunity to study for CAT/GATE/GRE?GMAT though.

    Cons

Poor compensation, given the health hazards of working in a chemical plant, IITian's get paid more than you for sleeping (which is what you do as well), no sense of responsibility from mid-level managers.
Bootlicking is an established path to success here and a 70% attrition rate will make you want to get away as soon as possible yourself

    Advice to Management

Increase compensation, remove the disparity between wages of IITian's and non-IITian's if they're both gonna sleep anyway.

I have been working at Reliance Industries full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

If you have any contact in management, join it without hesitation.
If you can stand with "boss is always right", go & join RIL. It is best place for such persons.

    Cons

    No opportunities for Freshers.
No one to care how to engrave your future.
It is better to leave a job instead of joining RIL for freshers.

I worked at Reliance Industries full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

    1. Safe haven for people on the verge of retirement.

    Cons

    1. Horrible for any new comer and middle manager level employees.
    2. Once you join, all your growth path in life get closed, till you get out of the company.
    3. No HR policy. Its only a mouth piece to blow trumpet for top management.
    4. Culture of the company is hellacious. No trust among the employees. The perception of the employees about the company is same as that prevailing outside about Reliance.
    5. Managers treat their team members as their personal servants. Most of the managers are from simple educational background, so any top brass from any renowned schools are screwed up in such a manner, so they even forget their own ability, forget about getting job of their own choice.
    6. Its a breeding ground of bright talents who have lost their way for future, and will never be able to shift job, because they are currently super experts in printing papers and photocopying.
    7. People with the capability of swimming will be given the job of iron monger and vice versa.
    8. All departments are fighting with each other like cats and dogs, without any co-ordination.
    9. Only proper boot lickers gets some pie, though they never gets to the top as the company is run by hijacked managers from different MNCs at an exorbitant price.
    10. The company has a high affinity for low grade white skinned managers from foreign countries, who were fired in their own countries for inefficiency. These insecure species treats their subordinates more wickedly than their indian counterparts, and shows extreme efficiency in oiling the top management.
    11. No increment, promotion or benefit for non sycophants. The joining salary remains same for next 10 years. Benefits remains confided only to the cream management. Company runs on 95:05 principle. 5% of the employee gets 95% of the salary. Perception amongst managers is that they only run the company, so all the benefits due to them only.
    12. Disrespect and ignorance is a way of life. Everyone is insecure in this environment.

    Advice to Management

Upper management is too high to reach.

I worked at Reliance Industries full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

You can have a stable job (if you don't want to change company)
You can enjoy FISH (food) with VPs, travel is business and stay at luxury hotels if you work like a dumb and say Yes sir to boss
    OK salary structure
    No pressure job
You can file laundry list of IPs and get useless patents without any practical use to company by manipulating data

    Cons

Not good choice for entry and mid level people( if you want to relax towards end of your professional life, go for it.)
They are not serious about project as they have too much of money to spend
Company's work environment is not intellectually stimulating
Nepotism, mediocrity and pleasing the boss is the only formula to get promotion
    No work ethics
Random performance appraisal and recognition process
Data manipulation encouraged by bosses to show up top management and company lack of scientific ethics
No independence and free hand to execute projects (only project will go ahead which are just to show up and make noise to top management)
Managers and VP never walk the talk. They just do some lip-service and castle-in-the-air.

    Advice to Management

Appoint some unbiased and ethical person with good track-record as lead who understand biology, Ignore people from Monsanto company , don't give undue promotion based on random noise, recognize real hero at wok who talk less and do more. (all the glitters are not gold)
