I worked at Remington Park full-time for more than a year

    Pros

Breaks are mandatory, lunchroom has free drink and ice stations, vending machines, and fridges to put your packed food. Employee discount at the restaurants and shops. Great medical.

    Cons

Security Department, needs more pay, high turnover rate, too much micro management, not enough proper training. Sporadic scheduling.

    Advice to Management

Raise your pay rates, need better training, and schedule better.

I worked at Remington Park full-time for more than a year

    Pros

Most of the other security officers are amazing people. They will make sure you get trained and can do your job without getting in trouble.

    Cons

Everything from the supervisor level up is atrocious in security. Talk to someone in management without notifying your supervisor (even for non-work related things)? That's disloyalty and jumping the chain of command. No translucency and management doesn't care about work conditions. Zero opportunity to move up and no raises in the two years I worked there. This isn't a career and barely qualifies as a job. Everyone is replaceable, even the security captain, so everyone looks out for just themselves and will throw anyone under the bus if it means they get to keep their job.

    Advice to Management

You should seriously rethink your entire management team. No one even tries to work with employees. The only redeeming member was the old Security Captain and he left because the work environment became too toxic.

I worked at Remington Park full-time for more than a year

    Pros

Great place for a first time security guard. Easy work, clients are usually not too bad, coworkers are easy to get along with. Training classes are offered (sometimes even required) and held at the facility, and you get payed to attend. benefits are competitive (arguably better than some) and the job itself can be pretty interesting depending on your duties for the day. Uniforms are provided outside of base layers, footwear, and duty gear.

    Cons

You'll be told first thing that pay increases don't happen often if at all, but they are given to select people and kept secret from the rest of the team, use of force policy is seemingly focused on company liability rather than guard safety, turnover rate is high, and many of the people who are hired don't belong in the security field for medical reasons or otherwise. Most guards are unarmed or armed only with a taser and often do not hold CLEET unarmed licenses (albeit unneeded for the agency, armed guards under LT are required to run the company's second hand Smith and Wesson 40s with very few exceptions.

I have been working at Remington Park full-time for more than a year

    Pros

Working straight 8 hours , don't have to clock out for lunch.

    Cons

The work load was extremely unbalanced. Some people have more than can do, while others have a couple hours worth. They play favouritism as along as your one of them, you won't have to do much work or show up on time. Also schedule, pay and co workers

    Advice to Management

CONSISTENCY , if one person in the department has to adhere to certain rules it should be across the board!

    I worked at Remington Park

    Pros

You meet a lot of people / guests who become regulars. You enjoy seeing them and being able to watch them have a winning experience.

    Cons

Managers and supervisors are extremely hard to work for. Often times extremely disrespectful. If you are not friends with them you are treated definitely.

    Advice to Management

Treat your employees equal. Don't favor people because they are your friends outside of work.
