    Pros

If you enjoy working with others who really need your help then Renaissance House is for you. The hours are incredibly flexible, because they need caregivers 24 hours a day. Working with mentally handicapped and developmentally disabled persons will change your whole viewpoint if you're willing, and its very fulfilling, because you feel like you are making a difference.

    Cons

You are responsible for other people's lives, their meals, their clothes, their medications, their...everything. You spend time doing everything you do at home; but for others, so if you don't want to repeat your life (cleaning, doing laundry, making sure everyone gets to bed, then going home and taking care of your own) then this isn't the job for you.

    Advice to Management

The management team at Renaissance House really does a good job making sure you understand what is required of you at each home you go to. They provide that training, as well as regular paid meetings to update everyone on important issues/changes. If you are having any problems (either on the job or personally), I have found that they are extremely helpful, they will do what they can for you.
