I worked at ReneSola full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Great internal structure, good support most of the time. Decent pay and commission. Freedom to structure my own work week, and schedule.

    Cons

Difficulty receiving stock on time, left making excuses for clients. Slow marketing and rollout of new products.

    Advice to Management

Focus on product pipeline and take risks when manufacturing top sellers. Its better to have extra, than to loose clients over stock availability. Be more through with ISR/OSR relations and exhibit more transparency. Business CC's would save more time and money, trust your reps to handle them responsibly.

    Pros

Very few pros - nice people at the office, mandated health insurance, free coffee...

    Cons

More cons than pros - not great at doing business and making a profit, terrible employee compensation, rigid overbearing management...

    Advice to Management

Y'all are pretty set in your ways, so all I can say is good luck.

    Pros

There are no pros to this company

    Cons

Do not work at this company. They have a problem with translating from Chinese way of doing things as opposed to American way. You can not sell product the market wants but refuse to put product in place to fit the market until old product that does not fit the needs of the market is sold. In the mean time the sales reps are expected to fulfill their obligations to sales numbers.

    Advice to Management

stop promoting people who have zero electrical industry background just because they can sell does not mean they know the multiple markets they have to serve.

    I worked at ReneSola full-time

    Pros

The salary was good and the health benefits were too. Save up what you can because you will be gone within a year.

    Cons

Management has no clue about the markets of different cities. They think because one city is growing that the rest of them are too. Always out of stock on products which causes loss of orders. Management thinks they are a top lighting company but are far from it.

    Advice to Management

Give your sales team time to penetrate the market and bulk up on your inventory.

I worked at ReneSola full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Very little Pros. Since it is such a small company in the US. You do get to learn a lot since you need to do everything because the company is run very lean.

    Cons

Very low paying job compared to industry average. No advancement in career. Everything has to be approved though China HQ for the smallest expense. Bad benefits, only 10 vacation days a year. No communication from upper management, mission, goal of company.

There were NEVER any yearly raises or let alone bonuses. Don't expect to ever get a raise. I never got a raise and only a small <$500 bonus. They work on a Chinese culture where employees are paid very badly. Turnover is very high! In 2 years non-sales employees turnover was over 80%. On average people only stay for 1.5 years.

There is no technology, ERP or system you are able to use. Everything is on Excel or the warehouse uses a very cheap 3rd party system to fulfil orders. It's very manual to do your job. Operations employees are working 10+ hours a day because the US branch is run very lean and all hiring approvals need to go though China HQ. Hiring approval takes months while employees are paid as temps (hourly) for nearly 10 months when they promise you to hire you to a permanent position after 3 months.

A lot of favoritism/nepotism in the company. Only able to advance your career if your boss likes you and able to speak Chinese.

    Advice to Management

Communicate to your employees, we don't know what's going on in the company. Pay employees better with yearly bonuses! There is a reason why turnover is so high!

    Pros

The only pro was the location of the office. Right off of 12th St bart station by the city hall. Lots of protests went on while I was there, which I didn't mind because I didn't have to go to work and sit among the people who spoke only in Chinese in front of non-Chinese workers

    Cons

The discrimination against the non-Chinese employees is real - talking in Chinese in front of other people who don't speak the language (including HR), not having to go through the drug test PRIOR to their employment.

A lot of the people at the office work 10+ hours a day. If you're willing to dedicate your days to a company and can speak Chinese, this would be great company for you.
