I worked at Renhill full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Professional, you can make your own schedule, little restriction on teaching style, good networking opportunities if becoming a teacher.

    Cons

Difficult to network apart from long-term approaches, or if not a qualified teacher, the discipline of students, but not company's fault.

    Advice to Management

Provide more transitional job opportunities, like a staffing agency instead of temp. agency and open the door to roles to grow with schools subbing at.

I worked at Renhill full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Worked as a substitute teacher but was employed long term in a position. The office that oversaw the process was professional and easy to work with.

    Cons

Early morning phone calls for substitute jobs.

    Doesn't Recommend

I have been working at Renhill part-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Flexible schedule, can choose which days you want to work

    Cons

Keep taking away scheduled days leaving me with non-work days after my planning, do not communicate reason for this. My license permits me to work upto five days in a row per assignment, but they won't let my choices stay. In addition to the online selection system, there apparently is a "list" of acceptable teachers, so I'm no longer even seeing the openings from certain schools this year where I spent a majority of my days last school year.

    Advice to Management

    Better communication.

I worked at Renhill full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

The BEST company I have ever worked for. Renhill has an excellent reputation in the Toledo area, majority of the staff has been there for many years, the owner is phenomenal. I've been at several other staffing companies and not happy at all. Would still be at Renhill if not for health reasons. Five stars all the way around.

    Cons

Not a single thing that I can think of, if anyone has an opportunity to work here they should jump on it and will have no regrets.

    Pros

Variety of substitute teaching assignments. The Renhill employees seem very friendly. Last-minute staffing jobs are easy but the Redhill callers are always professional

    Cons

Variability in the management of substitutes at the different schools.

    Advice to Management

Survey substitutes after assignments. They may not volunteer information on their own.

    Neutral Outlook

I have been working at Renhill full-time

    Pros

Never a shortage of things to do. Co-workers are helpful and friendly. The management changed in 2013, which has lead to more transparency and positive changes in company culture. Fast-paced environment, which is never dull or boring. Management is flexible when it comes to work-life balance.

    Cons

Communication to employees could be better. Pay is low in both temp and internal positions. They are losing good people because of below-market pay. Distinct cultural difference between departments, which leads to lack of cohesiveness. Office employees only get two sick days per year.

    Advice to Management

Pay employees more in line with the changing market. Increase sick days. Work to improve communication and transparency.
