    I worked at Rent-A-Center full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

Something new every day. Customer relationships.

    Cons

No work/family balance. Higher ups way to far removed from day to day activities.

    Advice to Management

Hire from within and get with the economic times.

I have been working at Rent-A-Center full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Leadership cares and listens. This is a big corporation with a small business feel so it is easy to be recognized for quality contributions.

    Cons

It is possible that we try to accomplish too many tasks in house instead of vetting and hiring quality experts from the outside.

I have been working at Rent-A-Center full-time (More than 8 years)

    Pros

I like that we have access to employee purchase the goods carried in store. I also like that they offer healthcare benefits. That is about it.

    Cons

Salaried employees are expected to work 6 days a week for 12 hours a day. As a store manager I am constantly belittled and made to feel like trash. Most things are out of our control at the store level but they don't care. You have to deal with people whose sole intention is to come into the store and rip you off.

    Advice to Management

Treat your employees better than replaceable garbage. Motivation to do well is extremely low.

    I worked at Rent-A-Center full-time

    Pros

Meeting new people and helping those less fortunate get their dream products.

    Cons

Do not expect to have a life. Managers work 60+ hours, and are even forced, yes I said forced, to work 6 days. It was told that it was approved through HR that as salaried associates we are not required to have a day off.

    Advice to Management

Remember that people that are well rested, and have a clear mind do better work. These days, it is hard to find a dedicated and loyal employee that will give years. Treating people like they do not matter is very unprofessional.

    I worked at Rent-A-Center full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Decent benifits. Have Sundays off and major holidays

    Cons

High stress. Even if you hit your numbers it's never enough. And customers can threaten to do physical harm, call a complaint, and you get in trouble even if you follow company policies. Company stock is dropping and upper management is resorting to knee jerk solutions that don't serve the customers or the employees.

    Advice to Management

Unfortunately, too many are promoted because of time served, but are not qualified. Good employees suffer because of bad ones. Open door policy is a joke.

    I worked at Rent-A-Center full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Decent Pay, decent promotion (lower level- non management)

    Cons

Scheduling was bad, hard to get days off sick or vacation, store manager's are more concerned about selling bad furniture to people who can't afford it and then get mad at the collection manager because those same people skip out on their accounts. Super High turn over rate

    Advice to Management

Think about taking care of your employees, hiring store managers who know what they are doing or who at least have the capability to multi task, stop punishing(giving them a hard time) employees when they want to use the time they have earned.
