    The vacation time was the only perk

    Cons

    Area and Business Unit management were clueless as to what was actually happening with the employees and drivers. All management wanted to see was better numbers. Profit, NPS number, Driver evaluation of company numbers. They could not understand it was the people that created the numbers. When suggestions were provided they were ignored or dismissed entirely.

    Work life balance was all in their favor. This was very difficult to handle with the low pay.

    Advice to Management

    Sell off Montana so that it can be operated correctly like it was in the Allied days.

    Good benefits , decent pay

    Cons

    Get sucked into working for then with a lie higher day one position for lower pay then expected to do the higher pay position at the lower cost , lied to about hours one day it’s 10 you leave as normal wrote up because they wanted 15 hrs a day , you work Monday . Saturday 15+ hours a day add in your drive time if you make it home alive you can figure what you work to home life is like

    Advice to Management

    Get rid of upper management like sandy lies to your face doesn’t let you get a word in , very disrespectful to his employees , as they say there is never bad employees just bad bosses and this place fits the build

    Co-workers, stability, and good opportunity to learn about the waste industry

    Cons

    High benefit cost, no work life balance, no monthly/annual incentives for non-mgmt in admin offices, still a male dominated business, if management does not like you - no increases or career advancement anywhere in the company; lack of communication and high rate of mgmt turnover.

    Advice to Management

    Advance employees who do their job and have dedication, instead of friends and relatives.

    I have been working at Republic Services (Less than a year)

    Pros

    Job security, PTO, nice call center

    Cons

    There is a total lack of support and terrible communication across the board. If a customer wants to talk to a supervisor, you basically have to interrogate them and are forced to talk the customer out of wanting to talk to a supervisor. They never get to talk to supervisors anyway, just escalations specialists who never want to take the call. We have to use overly complicated systems all of which say something different. The standards for call quality are absurd and it is pretty much impossible to actually do a good job. Every division is different, so there is a lot of reading and research that goes into each call. Customers are yelling at you that they haven't gotten their trash picked up in weeks and all we can do is submit notes to operations and we never actually know if the issue gets resolved. The stress level for a $15 an hour job is too much.

    Advice to Management

    Value your employees as more than just points, metrics, and subjective call quality scores. Try harder to create a stable work environment by making sure your employees have the floor support they need and don't go weeks without a supervisor. That will do more for morale than hot cocoa and pajama day. Hire more escalations specialists who actually want to help when a customer has a serious issue. Re-do compass, case steps, biller console and Salesforce to be one integrated interface with all of the information needed to take a call laid out clearly. Don't hold your customer service reps to a higher level of perfection than you hold yourself. Be more understanding to mothers and single parents. Our children need us and we shouldn't have to stress about loosing our jobs or never being able to get a promotion due to taking the time to care for our sick children.

    There is overtime.

    Cons

    Really bad training environment, very slow. I had different people training me.

    Advice to Management

    They need to get it together asap. They even have bad reviews from customers. They need to pay the dispatchers more then they should. They do more then what is paying them.

    The job Was close to Home and the drivers were authentic people. The coffee was good and free and I had a window

    Cons

    Upper management ran the company like the Wild West . They would fire people for no reason but they didn't like your haircut. The turnover was out of control. A revolving door. There were 9 ops managers in 4 years it's was a toxic work environment at best and working for someone who was just a aweful person to the core was unbearable. I would not recommend working at Republic Services for any amount of money.

    Advice to Management

    Get a grip on your GM's They are out of control
    And if you are aware of their actions. Shame on you. You have lost a lot of talented people and will
    Continue to. You are in no way on the level of professionalism of other multi billion dollar companies you are bush league at best

    Easy work. Great drivers to work with.

    Cons

    Management team didn't care about drivers. Management and controller only worried about making a number not doing the right thing.

    Advice to Management

    Wouldn't ever want to associate myself with that management team.
