I have been working at ResCare part-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Began working for this company that seemed to have high morale on and off for the first year.

    Cons

Office staff panics way too much. Very low morale. I'm often pushed to cover sifts because staff keeps quiting.

    Advice to Management

Try to give caregivers the benefit of the doubt.
Being irritated with a caregiver for whatever reason is are a waste of time and a risk of everyone confidence and enthusiasm including yourself.

Hospice caregivers should deffinaty be paid more.
No matter how long a caregiver does this job emotional trauma will be endured.
Caregivers assisting with hospice care are extra skilled workers who not only care for the specific person but the whole family.
    Please reconsider.

I have been working at ResCare full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

You get lots of overtime, if u are willing to work it. Early mornings, late nights, weekends, and overnight aren't ideal for everyone.

    Cons

The pay is terrible, especially for the liabilities involved. You work with people so there are tons of things you have to try to keep under control.

    Advice to Management

Pay employees more and you will get employees that can be more dedicated to the clientele, instead of having to work 2 jobs just to make ends meet!

I have been working at ResCare part-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Well You will learn Social Skills, while You are Assisting The Consumers on becoming more independent, in the Community. I'd never had The Social Skills, I have now until I came to ResCare.

    Cons

Well for the most part it's that You never know what You're getting Yourself into, until You really familiarize Yourself with the Consumers, and Their needs., getting adjusted to the way that You approach Certain Situations.

    Advice to Management

I wish the starting pay for ResCare Community Living Inc. here in Austin, Texas wasn't so low. You could have more of the positions filled if the pay was right., here in Austin I've been at The Company for a total of 5 Years, to have them take Me down from $8.25/hourly to $7.75/hourly, plus I had to give up My PTO., that's not right so alot of the Employees at the Austin Location has yet resigned or was Terminated.

    Pros

Great clients and most of the other staff were great to work with and treated the clients with care and respect. Nice and clean home in good neighborhoods

    Cons

They will hire mostly friends of the supervisors so everyone is treated differently and if your not friends with them you get crappy shifts and the people they hire are just their fir the money not for comparison care and when they don't get the money they expect they just leave without notice witch makes it hard for the rest of the employees

    Advice to Management
