I have been working at ResMed full-time

    Pros

Beautiful Site, Great Product, Passionate employees

    Cons

Leaders who have grown up with the company have received unmerited promotions, however lack basic capability at their level. Their inadequacies leave them threatened by "outsiders". The result in a deep seated culture of favoritism and bullying that is maintained by leadership.

    Advice to Management

Executive leadership needs to utilize impartial, external resources to gain a true understanding of the corruption across ALL areas of the business and clean house.

I have been working at ResMed full-time (More than 8 years)

    Pros

    Flexible hours
    Great benefits
    Good start pay rate
    Nice cafeteria
    Beautiful building
2nd floor to 6th floor have high end espresso
    Great Wi-Fi reception

    Cons

    Micro management

Management cares the quantity of work instead of quality of work

No room to grow under my department

    Managed by a wrong team/department

You need to learn on your own... or look for hundreds of article to find answer to your questions....

    Disconnect process

There is always someone who wants to be a Hero who will change the process and doesn't consult the right people on what will be the outcome if they made a slight change of the program or process.

No confident in our team...youre getting drowned with hundreds of emails, projects and calls. Underpaid for the amount you do.

    Slow pay rate increase

You pay for gym membership!!! While other company offer it for free to their employees.

    Advice to Management

People leave their job because of management or manager. Please value your hard working employees. We are human and not robot.

Re evaluate program process...there is always a disconnect program work process.

Value the quality of work instead the quantity of email/calls done.

Too much huddle meeting. ....sometimes it is un- necessary.

Stop favoritism ..... instead take care of people who do great job and asset to a team/company.

Supervisors, please be a good leader, inspire your team to do great, be a role model and support your team.

Good pay and benefits. Pretty campus.

    Cons

Micromanagement is the name of the game here. Along with arrogance and rigidity. Also it is a Sydney based ompany worh definite bias to import Aussies.

I really do not know. I don't see how you can fix what are prrsonality traits.

    I worked at ResMed full-time

    Pros

Was once a great company to work for that provided great work life balance, incentivized TM's to overachieve goals, grow business, etc. Great benefits and clear vision of company goals.

    Cons

Now being run by a guy who stated on PC trip that TM's are "grossly overpaid" and the hemorrhaging of top performing reps being forced out is very telling as is the type of employees they are backfilling with. In most cases they are dissolving territories.

    Advice to Management

Decide what you want. You either want to pay for performance or you want to hire pharma reps to manage a territory with no desire to make commission dollars.

    I worked at ResMed part-time

    Pros

Learning about the product was good.

    Cons

Infighting. Office indiscretions and preferential treatments for some was common. Brown nosing was implied if you wanted to keep your job. Glassdoor asks for truth and truth is not always pretty. Some in supervisory roles held grudges and took out personal vendettas. So glad to no longer work here

    Positive Outlook

I have been working at ResMed full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

I have been Resmed for about 5 years now working as a software engineer in the Healthcare Informatics division. They have one of the best campuses and the building is full of expensive art. They pay me well and I don’t have much to complain about as far as compensation and benefits. They have a gym onsite and good health programs which show their commitment to employee welfare. The senior management is progressive and we are set for a period of huge growth over the next few years.

    Cons

As you can see they have a good overall structure in place to make it a great place to work. However that is where all the pros end. They are hiring a lot of people at this point and it's important that you read this review before you make a decision on joining the HI division.

So it turns out we acquired a little mom-and-pop shop from Halifax and the overlords from that company are currently in the process of taking over the Healthcare Informatics division. There is rampant cronyism and the CEO of the mom-and-pop shop that has taken over us is busy promoting his own clueless incompetent people since the last 1 year or so. People who know very little about technology have gone from being first-line supervisors to Directors within a period of 6 months to a year. All this would be easy to ignore if this new management were fair or smart or knew what they were doing. People who were smart, understood business and technology and had big ideas have been turned into puppets of the new management. These new managers chill all dissent and punish people whose opinions they don’t like by sidelining them, demoting them or creating an environment in which people are forced to leave. The company has hired experts in many areas in the last couple of years but these experts are completely ignored and sidelined and eventually let go because their views don’t match with the clueless incompetent managers, leads and directors that work in the HI division. So if you are the type of person who has ideas and interest in changing things then this is absolutely one of the worst place to come to. These are things you should seriously consider because it is extremely frustrating and insecure to work here.

    Advice to Management

Spend time with and recognize who are the experts in the company and empower them to make decisions. Talk regularly to the experts to get an idea of what is really going on. Don’t judge employees based on feedback from the senior managers and Directors, spend time and keep in touch with the experts in each area. Encourage collaboration and involvement at all levels rather than allowing clueless Sr. Managers and Directors to make decisions. Allow free flow of ideas and dissent rather than silencing and sidelining people whose ideas the managers don’t like.

I have been working at ResMed full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Nice building. Nice gym. Nice cafeteria. Nice parking garage. Good people if you haven't been sucked into the machine.

    Cons

Of course it depends on what department you are in but for the most part this company is rich with nepotism and internal competition. The environment breeds toxicity and so many people are so miserable but everyone is too afraid to say anything about it.

I have been working at ResMed full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

I got paid when I was on maternity leave and look forward to that again. But overall, the benefits are not comparable to the industry. Months ago they sent out an employee survey to take the temperature of the staff however seemed to keep the results a secret..must have been really bad.

    Cons

Another perk went away, no more Thanksgiving thank you cards. It fits that they would take away a thank you gift as the happiness and welfare of the employees is not considered. The comments on bullying and high school atmosphere are sad but true.

Very top heavy throughout the company so the work can never get done. There are a lot of unskilled, high level people. Not sure how they got the job but some house cleaning is necessary.

    Advice to Management

Clear out the Director level, most seem quite unskilled and enjoy using the ResMed budget as their personal spending accounts. It's hard to see the frivolous spending that continues to happen at that level.
