I worked at Research Medical Center full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Most of the employees are pretty good.

    Cons

Short staffed and the pay is pretty poor in comparisons to other hospitals. High turnover rate.

    Advice to Management

Offer better pay, better incentives, and try to work on better staffing.

I have been working at Research Medical Center full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Would be worse if there was no union

    Cons

not enough nurses, extreme turnover, even new nurses quit as soon as St Lukes will hire them, rarely have a tech to help, no experienced RNs left makes shift even worse, once you work this location they will not let you transfer to another location, you will be stuck unless you quit hca all together

    Advice to Management

management does not care, it's management by proclamation declaration publication of fiction, no recognition of reality

    Pros

Staff is diverse. Some are friendly and kind, others are over heated and feel the workload more than others. Nurses and techs generally work well together

    Cons

Old equipment, not a safe part of town.

I have been working at Research Medical Center full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Large network of hospitals. Great teamwork. Trauma 1 designation. Serves the low income community. Lots of experience opportunities. Educational and skills advancement.

    Cons

Very outdated charming system. Old broken equipment. Not a Magnet. No nurse to patient ratio guidelines. Management seems oblivious to the day to day needs of the facility. Doctors don't act like part of the team. Unfortunately, wealthy caucasian patients get the best medical care, and are treated with exception by the administrators.

I worked at Research Medical Center (More than a year)

    Pros

Generally easy to get in because the bar, as well as pay, is low.

    Cons

Stopped my insurance although I was still billed $276/mo for premiums. Truck robbed and vandalized in parking garage with no evidence (no cameras or security checks). Profit took full precedence over quality care.

    Advice to Management

If you want federal guidelines followed, put policies in place that will support them.

    Cons

Management needs to listen to their employees to retain quality talent..
