I worked at Resolution full-time for more than a year

    Pros

Loved working here. Great work-life balance, upper management that cares about you as an individual and will look out for your professional development. Opportunities for quick upward mobility if you work hard and put your time in.

    Cons

I've worked at far worse agencies who will work you to the bone and would definitely consider working for the parent company, Omnicom, again. Don't have any "Cons" to share.

    Advice to Management

Thank you for caring for employees at all levels and hearing their voices, even at entry level. This is rare to find at an organization level.

I have been working at Resolution full-time

    Pros

-Great training resources -Very professional atmosphere -Many talented employees across disciplines

    Cons

-When you are on the wrong team you are REALLY on the wrong team; some managers can be excessively rude, unsupportive, and actually pretty rude -Corporate and dull; the ideas might be new and fresh but the technology and company culture is not -Cliquey as hell; coming in as a new hire is a nightmare -There are bad apples aplenty; you will hear former employees getting ridiculed outloud and it will feel very uncomfortable -You will need to take personal calls far enough away to not get ratted on by your own team -Despite fairly regular hours, you will have worse work/life balance than most places -If you aren't cut from the corporate / ivy school prep cloth, you'll stick out like a sore thumb and feel incredibly uncomfortable -Managers would rather put you on 'performance plans' on the littest slip up rather than actually try to help you grow -Big egos are everywhere in upper management, and you will feel demeaned or deeply uncomfortable with the way they speak to other employees regularly -Certain tasks will be heavily redundant -Working in a melting pot of other agencies and companies should be a positive, but its more of sibling rivalry than a big happy company

    Advice to Management

Keep bigger egos in check, ease up on redundant tasks, Get rid of the stuffy cubicles, and ensure upper management is fully aware that bashing former employees in front of current employees is deeply unnerving and unprofessional as hell

    Pros

Upper management is transparent and friendly, for the most part. Clear vision for company moving forward. Company parties are usually fun and this company is well-placed as one of the top digital marketing agencies out there.

    Cons

Office is cliquey, but every office is until you meet the people you like. Training is lackluster and it doesn't always seem like you matter, no matter how hard you've worked.

    Advice to Management

Keep the transparency going and check in on employee morale now and then.

    Pros

Co-workers (coordinators) are great to work with! They were all very helpful.

    Cons

One team in particular was very micro-managed by upper management and did not fairly compensate employees with additional assets that were used on the team that other members did not have.

    Advice to Management

Do not micro-manage your teams. It does not work. Also, don't be bipolar. Being all chatty one day and then brushing off your employees the next day is not that great.

    I worked at Resolution

    Pros

Middle and upper management are high performers in their careers and care about sharing what they know. Leaders are dedicated to innovating with partners and creating specialized groups internally to create new approaches, which is fun! Opportunity to work on well known clients. Good work life balance and dedicated HR department to ensure employee engagement, growth and happiness. Great salaries and opportunities to add value to justify increases are plentiful. Marketing/PR team that defines the company well to the outside through events and PR, makes it feel like you're part of something special internally. Atmosphere is that of hard-working people, but that also care about things like post-work happy hours, free bagels, team lunches, parties, and enjoying life. Opportunities to travel.

Nothing! Sometimes, of course, the work can be challenging.

    Advice to Management

    I worked at Resolution full-time

    Pros

Has a solid client base with many different initiatives in the horizon

    Cons

Management is bad, petty, untrained, and you often find associates performing most of the work. A lot of people in upper management don't know basic excel functions, lack formal training, and often relegate most of their work to entry-level workers. The office needs more space. Some employees have to sit facing these gray brick walls that you feel life being sucked away day after day. It's regressive and unproductive.

    Advice to Management

Train your managers, make them know they can shake things up, and diversity in this company matters!

    Pros

Had great clients, with big names. My team below our director was amazing, smart, and worked hard despite upper management challenges Learned a lot about the industry through self-teaching

    Cons

Upper management created a hostile, shark like environment... If you didn't play the game, you were left behind (both on paid and organic side of business) HR protects upper management, even when they have multiple people having way too many unacceptable issues Too much work, and not enough life... No educational support from upper management (no conferences, no seminars, and no dedicated time outside of client work to teaching employees)

    Advice to Management

Understand your flaws, and don't punish those that stand up and voice their issues. Also, stop perpetuating the gossip culture, and reward ALL of your hard workers, not just those you favor.

I worked at Resolution full-time for more than a year

    Pros

    - Not a bad company to work for if you are entry level and interested in strategy and planning - Tries hard to build a fun corporate culture like most media agencies - Midtown office is in a prime location

    Cons

    - depressing windowless cubicles - high upper management turn over - hiring of unqualified management instead of promoting within - poor and disorganized training material - low compensation compared to competing agencies
