I worked at Resonate full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Genuinely transformative product - very different from other offerings in the market, both visually and functionally. Dynamic company culture with lots of opportunities for growth. Stable senior leadership (including three core founders) over many years. Positioned for growth in the coming years.

    Cons

Demanding timelines for product releases. Suburban HQ hard to reach for folks who want to live in DC.

    Advice to Management

Develop more partnerships in the industry to decrease barriers to customer adoption. Make it easier for DC-based folks to use the downtown office.

I worked at Resonate full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Great solution for politics and advocacy clients and lots of potential for growth if they put an emphasis on listening to market needs.

    Cons

They need to take a policy of developing talent. Sales leadership seems to be able to speak intelligently to C-level staff but in reality has no clue how sales work and limited knowledge of technology.

    Advice to Management

Less internal "reports" and start genuinely listening to sellers challenges and pivot the product to market needs.

I worked at Resonate full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Strong player in the political and advocacy space. Good benefits package. Unlimited PTO. Good marketing team. A few good people are still left.

    Cons

Very high-pressure sales organization. If you aren't performing to unattainable standards in the first 90 days, you are out. There has been a ton of turnover in sales over the past several months. Not one person on my team of 8 reps made goal in 2016. There is no transparency at all when it comes to how annual goals are set. Very weak support team and internal communication. The product is inferior and it is hard to compete in an already very crowded marketplace. Most campaigns either get cancelled or do not renew. The company is under a lot of pressure to be profitable after almost 10 years in business and they are taking extreme measures to get there.

    Advice to Management

Listen to what your sales people are hearing in the market and use that feedback. Be more transparent. You have lost a lot of good people recently and need to step up your game.

    Pros

Friendly group of people, exciting and intriguing products, excellent employee activities, great management and communication between departments.

    Cons

No 401k matching. Other then that, no negatives.

I have been working at Resonate full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Top to bottom, the People are excellent. They're smart, hard working, fun, etc.

The new Product is really distinctive and is getting traction.

    Cons

Need to fill in some holes in the organization in Marketing, Research, Engineering

    Advice to Management

    Keep doing what you're doing

I worked at Resonate full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

The company incentives and rewards programs are strong.
The pay is on-par with the area.
The engineering team has smart and kind people.

    Cons

On the advertising side, the environment is toxic. Sales runs roughshod over account management and product.
The vision for the network is very behind the times. No transparency to the client and using out-dated technology.

    Advice to Management

Start attending ad tech conferences to get a sense of the market. Push back on sales when they make promises the company can't keep. Hire a larger team to prevent burn-out.

    I worked at Resonate full-time

    Pros

-The company is making a purposeful change in direction to become a SaaS provider of an insights and analytics tool. It is a great time to join the company if you thrive in a "we will just figure it out" mode of operation.
    -Leadership team is great.

    Cons

-Because the SaaS model is still new, and Resonate already has a well established ad-tech business, there are dueling priorities at times, and the mission is not always very clear.

    I worked at Resonate full-time

    Pros

I had an amazing opportunity to work at an amazing place. Lots to learn, great culture, and great people. Especially people. There are good communication and knowledge sharing amongst the team. People are always willing to help out with difficult problems and managers asking members feedbacks for things to improve. I do not have much working experience but I have to say that I could not have asked for more for a great working experience.

    Cons

I really don't have cons but since I HAVE to write something here.... ummmm free sodas?

    Pros

Great place to learn new exciting technologies. Most of the engineering team is fun to work with.

    Cons

As in most of the companies, there are some bad apples which inhibits the Engineering team going to next level. These are protected individuals from the upper management. If you can get around these, you will enjoy working here. This company is way behind adapting new Big Data technologies.

    Advice to Management

Watch out for these bad apples. They will spoil this company.
